People of all ages and nationalities buy cruises. Most young folks go on Carnival cruise line; ages 21 to about 35. But Carnival does have some older passengers too. The middle aged folks, 35 to 60 go on several lines, like Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Celebrity. One cruise line tends to have the oldest passengers, Holland America and they tend to be people 60 and above although there are some who are younger. All of the cruises also have kids on board; the number may vary by cruise line, date and itinerary but kids do cruise and the cruise lines have special programs just for kids.

I have been on more than 15 cruises with 4 different cruise lines and the passengers come from all over the world. Sometimes there are passengers from one country traveling as a group. Sometimes there may be as few as 5 or 6 passengers from one country or another. The majority that I have seen on cruises, even in Europe and the Mediterranean, have been American. On some ships there will be many passengers from several countries and the ship will make announcements in several languages. One cruise that I went on the person making the announcements spoke 8 languages and made multiple announcements each time.

Gays, lame middle aged women, and old folks.

To anybody who objects... all I ask is for you to think back to the cruise you're about to tell us that you took your wife on... picture it in your mind... who was on the cruise? Gays, middle age women, and old folks, right? Right.
