Im sure you'd get it somewhere but there are other word processors out there. I use this one in preference to paying for microsoft office and it has all of the same programs and features:

free, effective and legal.

No guarantee either that if you went to pirate Word/Office that the source you download from is safe: it wouldnt be unheard of for a company to leak corrupt or infected 'fake' copies of their software as an example to pirateers.

You can download Word Viewer for free from Microsoft but that doesn't allow you to edit or create. Otherwise Word is a pay for product. You can use free Open Office however.

You CAN get Microsoft Word for free, but only for 60 days. You need to download the trial version of a complete suite, the smallest is 'Office Standard' (includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). It is available at http://www.trymicrosoftoffice.com/product.aspx?family=officestandard

You can download the TRIALS direct from Microsoft. Other wise you have to purchase it.

You can use OpenOffice, which is very similar and in many cases fully compatible. It is available FREE!
