Primarily because I'm an atheistic Jewish (culturally, not religiously) and secondarily because I never heard of an evangelical Jew. They believe what they believe but don't try to impose their beliefs on others.... and did you know that a large number of Jews (perhaps a majority) are atheist? SHOCKED???!!!!

Honestly, I'm afraid to criticize Islam... they might interpret the Kuran to justify injuring me

I think you've nailed a piece of truth in your question.

Actually, I never wondered why. I assumed much of what you added in your details. For the same reason, I suspect you will not take out against Buddhists.

As I understand you, it is faith that you are speaking out against. And I'm with you on that. Faith is generally defined as belief in the absence of evidence, or even in the face of evidence to the contrary. We would not respect such belief in regard to anything else, except perhaps by a very small child. Think about this: when someone believes by faith, rather than by reason, they can believe literally anything. This includes the proposition that this God they believe in wants them to do something which would otherwise be criminal. So they become extremely malleable in the hands of Leaders of their Faith, be they fundamentalist Muslims, fundamentalist Christians, or "fundamentalist" Satanists.

No. I did not wonder since I do not criticize the faith of others out of respect and I wish that everyone would show such respect. Your comment leads me to believe that you ONLY show this respect for Jews. Pity.
No, I am not shocked since I am acquainted with several Jews who, if not overtly atheist, certainly espouse atheistic beliefs or attitudes.

I can honestly say I've never seen a Jew standing on a street corner yelling scripture at passers-by

I HAVE seen those who stole their ideas from the Jews do that however

BTW I've never seen an atheist standing on a corner screeching about Darwin either, but somehow we have a "religion"!

Well Atheist, I could have guessed (maybe not the cultural Jewish part, but I'm part Jew as well...cultural, not religiously) I don't criticize anyone who doesn't criticize me, unless they ask to have a critical analyzes of whatever they are doing, then I'll gladly be critical...point out mistakes, etc. Now, CHRISTIANS are the only ones that I know of who shoot their mouths off and have the audacity of saying, "Oh, I'll pray for your soul" when you say you're an Atheist...phht...Christians are the ones who are condemning everyone else for what they believe...only the Extremist Muslims do that, no one else other than those two groups do it that I'm aware of anyway....it's rather disgusting in my opinion....

i like comrade Abdul's answer i thought it was funny, the Jews keep their faith to themselves, and men who convert are not accepted as true Jews, one have to be born int the faith.

i have many Jewish friends and they do not believe in the old testament.

go and visit Israel and see how the Jews live, ungodly at times, with their drug taking and open sexual activities and lots more.

but that is their problem not anybody Else's.

No.
But you're right that many Jews are atheistic.
Not most, but many.
But keep in mind what YOU and I know and understand- that Judaism is a culture as much as a religion, and rarely is it a chosen religion as it is passed matrilineally- is a VERY foreign concept to xtians, one which they have trouble wrapping their heads around.

But why not leave them alone?
I'm kind of wondering if you tried on xtianity and found out what a poorly made garment it is- In that case, congratulations. But it's not their fault.

I'm shocked that you think a majority of Jews are Atheist.. maybe where you grew up, but not where I did (Northeast USA).

I knew a lot Jews are atheist (e.g. Israel has large non-religious population) just as I know that Evangelical denominations are diverse in how they practice and are not all pushy with their faith.

BTW, I am a pantheistic spiritualist

No, I can honestly say I never have wondered...but I applaud your tenet, one which I subscribe to whole heartedly. Never impose your beliefs on others.

I knew that Jews do not impose their belief on others. As for the large number of Jews that are atheists, that is news to me. Thanks, I think...
