I found 2 Three week old kittens a few days ago. Vet instructed me to mix Kitten wellness (wet food) with KMR. Last night they started to lick the mixture from a plate.

My question is...what should the poop look like? Should it be solid or not? I'm not sure if what I found is a good sign or not. It was not pure liquid but not solid either.

Every rescue organization I called and my vet told me the best thing to do was to take them in. They have been checked by a vet and are happy and healthy. They are eating well and have a much better chance being with me instead of living in a wood pile when it gets into the 40's at night.

I would expect any abandoned kittens of that age to have a bit of diarrhoea, their digestive systems will be upset.

You're feeding the right food, so if they're healthy their poo will firm up before too long. If you are worried, talk to a vet. If the poo becomes liquidy or has blood in it, or they stop eating, take them back to the vet.

Be sure you want to keep these kittens, it's a lot of work. You need to get them vaccinated once they're 8 weeks of age, and neutered once they're 5 months of age.

Talk to a vet whenever you have medical questions about animals.

Well, I would just like to say that you should have left the kittens where they were, unless you were completely sure they were abandoned.

The kittens stools are going to have to get used to the mixture that your giving them. If it becomes an ongoing problem. I suggest taking them to the vet.

They are also very very young and without their mother have a very low chance of surviving.

It's OK if their poop isn't solid. It isn't supposed be for the first few weeks. Kind of like a human baby.
Just make sure you're giving them plenty of food, milk, and providing water; and in a few weeks, their poop will start to
be solid! :)
