Dear Fireball,
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, recomended fasting as a good freely-chosen spiritual practice.
Have a good weekend and Lord's Day!

Ramadan means to me Strength, strength and strength.

Ramadan gives me..........

Strength to love poors who are not able to feed themselves.

Strength to fight all odds.

Strength to stand for the truth.

Strength to give alms.

Strength to keep up your self esteem.

Strength to devout time for prayer.

Strength to avoid anger.

Strength to avoid hunger.

Strength to kill your bad habits,

Strength to inculcate good habits.

Strength to love all including non-Muslims.

Strength to understand the meaning of hunger.

Strength to stand against the corruption, violence.

Strength to become more humble..

Strength to my Islamic belief that Allah is for the whole humanity and not for the Muslims .only

Happy Ramadan/ Ramazan to all of you.....

Again " truth seeker " thinks he's a doctor. If he would read up on it, he will find that fasting is very good for a person's health. It actually cleanses the body. And nothing that is required in Islam is a ritual, everything has purpose and reason, and it is in the best interest of mankind. Even our prayers, which you'd think is just a ritual, along with obvious, worship to God, the sequences we go through are good for our joints and overall physical health, see how Allah blesses the Muslim.

You got that right. It is a spiritual discipline for us and above all it teaches us why the perseverance against that 7 sins is so important. We get close to the spirit and away from Bodily desires. Spirit seeks God while body seeks world. This month shows the difference between the two.

"Strive always to excel in virtue and truth"
"Riches are not from an abundance of wordly goods, but from a contented mind. "

Let us hope, pray and act on World peace together. Salam!

Well, I've seen it save one life.

Back in the day I used to ride with a mean biker named Fiaz. He's the only person I ever saw attack a car who nearly squashed him out on the highway by repeatedly slamming his Moto into the side of the car at 70mph.

Fiaz did a LOT of drugs, so that at the start of Ramadan each year he'd be close to physical and mental breakdown. Then he'd go absolutely straight for a month.

At the end of Ramadan he'd be restored, ready for another year of debauchery. Very good system.

i feel more & more spiritual & faithful, mayb coz it always reminds me with allah. no eating, no sleep with the wife during the day (but allowed at night) makes me feel i am something higher than a human being. i quit my animal part which loves food & sex,... etc, & directs myself to the soul part.
i may not b that active in praying & worshipping god, till Ramadan comes when i pray a lot & feel "refreshing" my Iman & faith for the great gift from allah in this month (duplicated).
we finish our usual daily work, but instead of saying jokes & playing games, we pray to God.

Fasting is a good practice. It clears toxins of body. Keeping mind serene during this period helps rise spiritually.

God resides in every body. Body is temple of God. Keeping this temple clean and full of love is the greatest worship of God.

with best wishes

A nut clercial imposition. Belongs to the dark satanic past. Why as a non muslim visiting a muslim country am I forced to endure such imposed crap / my human rights violated.

It would be more acceptable if I could have my food, drinks served and be allowed to smoke without secret religious police inferering in my own private life.

They have no rights whatsoever to force their indoctrinated crap, backed up by unelected laws under the gun, knife, sword, imprisonment, fines or whatever on others.
