No, but there is beginning to be some resistance. The reason is all of the ignorance perpetuated by the likes of Kent Hovind, Carl Weiland, Jim Baker, Jimmy Swagart, and a long long list of other charlatans ranging from local to international infamy. These leaders have their followers at lower levels, which can be just as annoying and threatening on a more personalized level.
I've heard a few other references to a "War on Christianity" from Conservative Christians. I believe it is nothing but a rally cry from these charlatans and their meat puppet politcians, trying to start a war on some of the concepts the rest of America holds dear, like freedom.

Yes. There always has been. But it is not only in America. It is worldwide. It is a battle even among the christians themselves. Jesus said that He would separate the wheat from the shaff. He is doing that now. You can see that many people are christians because they simply love the Lord, while others see it as a business opportunity and instead of shepherding the sheep, they are fleecing the flock. Jeremiah 23 speaks of this.

Absolutely not!
I think that epidavros said it best: there seems to be a war on everyone EXCEPT Christians. This is indeed a scary time to be a non-Christian in the United States.

Not at all. I know many may consider it a war ON Christianity but its really more a fight FOR other people's religions to have the same level of tolerance and acceptance that Christians have had.

I don't believe there is a war except in the eyes of some Christians. In my experience, every example cited by these people held a double-standard that served to promote their religion over the ideals of others.
For example, the same people who promote public school prayer and teaching Biblical creationism are rabidly hostile to any other form of prayer or belief systems being taught in school. At work, the same Christians who proselytize get upset at Muslims who express their views.

On the contrary, Christianity is making a well funded, well co-ordinated series of attacks on the basic rights of people with other faiths or no faith both at home and around the world.
George Bush has already gone on record saying that he did not think anyone who was not a question should be allowed to be an American citizen. Note that this meant even existing citizens.
Its a pretty frightening time not to conform to the right wing Christian orthodoxy in the USA, and if its hostility outside the US is purused as is being rumoured against Iran then we are but a few steps from World War 3 - all done in the name of Christ of course.

No, I think the christians have declared war on the rest of us. They go around trying to intimidate others into marching in lockstep with them or going to their mythical hell.
I have a mind of my own and do not need a man from a pulpit telling me how to think, and oh yes give me 10% of your social security check for god. It is not for god. It is so he can eat stake the end of the month while I survive on cereal and water because he took 10% of my social security check.
I know right from wrong and strive always to "Do that which is right" This is what my church teaches. It recognises I do have a mind and can make the determination of what is right or wrong.
You see this is not an attack on christianity. It is a defence against it.

There is a war on everything in America. They love that phrase, "war on fill in the blank." Of course, Christians love to think they are being persecuted, so you'll get a lot of affirmative answers.

No there isn't....The media would like the public to believe that...but think about your town...Are Christians being attacked? I didn't think so.
Fundamentalists bring harsh Christian philosophies to the attention of the public by trying to make them into laws. Even other Christians are against this. So it looks like an attack on Christianity when it is really a protection of separation of church and state.

No, the only war they are involved in is the one THEY started on the US Consititution. Not to mention 84% of Americans are christian, and Ive only seen a handful of politicians that dont claim the faith.
NO, but I will have to admit, if the fundies keep going with their attempted legislation of their beliefs there will be, and it wont be pretty.
