now a days you seldom hear or see siblings actually think of others rather then themselves.....feeling bad for your sister is not a bad thing... I agree that you should ask you parents to put off the punishment until after the carnival...express to them that you not only need her there you want her there ...if they still refuse ...then talk to your sister let her know that you have been trying to get them to change their minds.....usually the one that is being punished usually say ...don't worry about go have fun....chances are she probably will....and if she does....give her a hug.....then go to the carnival and bring her back something....

let your parents know that you are excitied about going to carnival but you feel sad, also, because you love your sister and she can't go. ask if they could put off her punishment until after carnival so you all can go and have a good time.

I think you should talk to your parents about it. Not necessarily to get them to change their minds, but to tell them how you are feeling bad about it. I understand how you would feel bad, but it might help to talk to someone about it and decide what you should do. Sounds like it is not your fault, and hopefully your sister would not want you to feel bad. Maybe you can go another time with your sister (later or to another future carnival), or maybe you will decide you do not to go this time, but I think talking to your parents about it might help you work out what you are going to do. Maybe the answer about bringing her back something if she is not allowed to go is good too. Good luck.

If you want to go, go and have a good time... bring her something back... If you feel guilty that she has to stay home, then stay with her. Personally, I wouldn't punish myself for something my sibling did. I would go and have fun!!!
