i need something to say for a opening toast at a wedding. Something short and sweet, haven't been able to come up with anything i like.

Depending on the relationship and possibly how long you've known the person, speak about their dreams or desires for that futuristic mate (most friends have had that conversation with their good friends) and how, if true, the person they married surpasses all they could have hoped or dreamed of. If there was a little humor in it that helps all the more.

You want to touch on the emotions. Make them want to cry they are so deeply touched, but having them laughing also.

Its just so great to see these two stepping out into a life together and lets all show them our happiness by enjoying
everything given to us today~~
