how can you say religion is false as a matter of what your own beliefs are just a theory itself. I don't care about athesist but when you start insulting religion thats when i have a problem with athesist. You say that religion causes all wars and yet you fail to isolate factors such as social, ecomonic and etc.

thats not true that i don't like other people dicussing it. if i didn't feel like it I would write you off as a bunch of idiots that have no clue and be done with this and i put it in a section where athesist are so they can defend themselves even though this is religion and spiruality section and according to athesist they are neither religious or spiritual. One famous athesist said "calling athesitism a religion is like calling bald a hair color.

athesist belief itself is silly. basically your saying that unless its proven you wont believe in it. but your believes as never been proven either. its been theorize. but never proven.

Atheist attack religion, because attacking religion is their religion. They just don't know the Biblical definition of the word "religion". It is litterally defined as "The wisdom of Men". That can be what man carries in wisdom from God, or any other like followed school of thought. Atheism is a religion, but shhh, they don't want to hear that. They want to tell you how much of a hypocrite you are for pushing your view on people, and they are very pushy about it. I don't mind so much, I need something to laugh at.

Maybe because a HUGE part of religion is built upon the demonizing of people who don't buy it.

Maybe, just maybe, you might understand that we would argue your assertions, based as they are upon superstition.

Burning. Stoning. War. Division. Propaganda. Dishonesty. Willful ignorance. Sexism. Hatred. Homophobia. Indoctrination. Political propaganda. Terrible spelling. And on, and on.

There is plenty to discuss about religion, and you just don't like other people discussing it even though you impose it on the world?

Amusingly, it is not very hard to insult a Christian or a Muslim.

Often, all one has to do is not believe that they are *right*. Or argue that you are not going to 'hell', or that you are not 'evil', or that the world evolved. I've also noticed that religious people tend to lack self-effacing humor, so this cultural difference is a problem during debate.

The ultimate irony is that religionists (especially Christians and Muslims) want to debate with us ALL the time. We are called infidels, non-believers, lost, unsaved, etc etc.

You never shut up about people who *don't* believe in your Gods. You want to knock on our doors and on our heads, but you don't like to be answered back.

Get over it. Those days are gone. We can now answer back, in many countries, without being harassed, demonized further, or even killed for it.

Such maneuvering. Of course wars aren't all religious and nowhere did I say that. That doesn;t remove the fact that religion causes wars. Technology is a tool not a cause.

because they are doing as God told them they would. Notice atheists always insult christians, no one else. Why? Didnt the same occur with Jesus? Instead of taking it as an insult, be proud that you are in Christ and living the prohecy He told his followers would dwelll. Satan is alive and will try by any means to deter God's children. I dont take their words as an insult, they give me more proof that god exists but at the same time give me pity for their soul. All we can do is pray for them because they do not know.

Insult religion? In what way? If telling you your religion is false and a waste of time is insulting then you have the meaning of insulting wrong. I tell believers they are wasting there time but I never insult them personally. Perhaps you want to know why we keep telling you these things. In that case we are finally speaking up after decades of being inundated with religious drivel every where we go.

If one doesn't try to throw religion into an atheit's face, or attempt to proselytize him, he will almost NEVER do that. They have no interest in religion, so don't want to waste any time on it. They are usually quite intelligent, so want to spent their valuable time on things of interest to them.

In short, if a person of ANY religion simply minds his own business on that topic when talking to an atheist, he is unlikely to EVER hear an atheist insulting any religion.

(For the record, I'm a Christian, but have had many atheist friends, and my best friend is an atheist. I know 'WAY better than to discuss religion with them, except objectively, now and then -- **without** proselytizing.)

Two big reasons:

1 - Religion is false. We value honesty.

2 - Religious folks don't seem to be able to control their own behavior and act like adults in public. In particular, they lie about atheists (like bama and Kenny did, above), they demonize atheists, and they attack just about anyone else who doesn't share their beliefs.

That second one is a biggie. Notice the difference between how we treat Christians and how we treat Buddhists? That's entirely because Buddhists don't behave like nasty spoiled little children.

Christians who want to be treated better could draw an important lesson from that. The ball is in your court - get Christians like Kenny and bama above to start behaving themselves, and you'll find that Christianity gets more respect from the adults here.

I suspect it's mainly young folk who've had lousy experience with evangelical religion and haven't gotten over it.

Or older folk such as myself who've had lousy experiences with evangelical folk and maybe have sometimes gotten over it but backslide.

Anger isn't something that stays down unless you keep a close eye on it.

this is unhappy isn't it? maximum folk have self belief that they are suitable, and in turn, their ideals are the only way. maximum hate stems from fake stereotypes and absence of practise approximately different methods of existence. it is likewise a shame what Muslims might desire to bypass via now. everybody thinks all Muslims are extremists who choose to take down usa, yet many Muslims are very non violent.

It is all a matter of perception and pride. Atheist have reached their decision after careful consideration. They have used the brain they have to come to what they believe is a logical explanation for the world and all that is in it. Most of the atheist I know (yes, this Christian not only knows some but have several I consider friends) decided to become Atheist by careful consideration of the facts. Exactly the same way I decided to receive Christ as Savior.

Beliefs founded in this manner are not easily shaken. And they are even human. That which seems so apparent to us is not that way to them. The best thing I have found that you can do for them is pray for them--and don't tell them that you are. It just upsets them. Let God work on them. You just love them like Jesus loved and if it is meant to be they will convert. Your example will do the most good.

They don't insult all religions. They insult every bodies religion except their own. Atheism is a religion.
