I'm cool just as long as the guy's room DOESN'T include:
• Dirty clothes or dishes lying around
• Rotten food on the floor or desks
• Roaches or even worse, mice
• Anything dead
• Anything that's broken or damaged,
• Anything that could potentially harm him or someone else
• Porno mags strewn across the floor
• A room that looks like it hasn't been cleaned or dusted since '99
Ideally the room should be fairly neat and tidy and have a nice enough atmosphere with sufficient lighting.

First and foremost, I've never gone to a man's room or flat. Unless I had been dating someone for quite a while, I wouldn't be alone with him.
I know. I'm a fuddyduddy, an antique and an oddity in these times.
I stick with meetings in public places. There are places that still offer a bit of privacy without going to his place or inviting him to mine. If I ever did go, I wouldn't want to see the pig sty/frat boy look I sometimes see on these design shows and on commercials and TV series. I suppose it should be reasonably neat. I'd look for books, music, and art.

I expect appreciation for beauty and scholarly doctrine to be just casually lying around...perhaps something indicating physical fitness, and a slice of vanity so that I know my new guys intrests can go from the boardroom, to the beach and then to the mountains. A few family photos help to show that he is able to appreciate his emotional ties, and a few movies either rental or a library collection will let me know that I can cuddle on the couch. What would turn me off? A sink filled to the brim with dishes, one or two would not be bad, but too many, more than one dish, one glass and and one coffee cup constitutes messy. Then just the polished look, is there light, soft, warm, is there access to air...any special twists to keep my eye amused. I do not like when your eye is gliding along style to bam, a photo of him and his last girl....that would be a bummer, the toilet and sink need to be at least attempted to clean, and the bathtub free from debris, and if I had to go into a bedroom and he was one of those live free types and there was a regular mattres on the floor, not new, stained and just lying there unmade saying...he just gets on and off, like hes gonna do to you sweety. I would take more pride if he ericted a tent or an air mattress on the floor, at least that comes up and can get folded up after you get a big bed that is off of the floor. :) Hope this helps.-Rachel.

Anything that stinks or looks too disorganised or unclean is a turnoff. Clean sheets are a plus, Dirty dishes, nasty towels all over the place, trash that hasn't been taken out for weeks, rotten vedgetables,GROSS CITY! Shape up or ship out!

As long as it's clean I think the room will look nice. I like dark rooms, with fish tanks and that have alot of open space (not to crowded)

it depends on the girl i think. if she's into certain things then she might like to see something in that area. ex. skater girls might like something that has to do with skating around the room, maybe a board, posters, videos. but for me, it's as long as the room is fairly clean and has a good style.
oh and i personally don't dig seeing porn lying around in a guys room..thats just nasty >.<

As long as things are neat and organized. I don't like disorder.
Also, the place should smell fresh.
Other than that, I don't give a rip if he has "scholarly" types of books or magazines sitting around trying to "impress" me.
I don't give a rip if his interests can go from boardroom, to beach, to mountains......gag! sounds pretty pretentious to me.

the first time i'm there i expect it to be clean. people always clean up when they have company and if he didn't clean up for me i would take it that he doesn't care to impress me. anytime after that, as long as the bathroom is clean and theres not clothes all over the floor or empty pizza boxes i'm good.
