the problem is when i was using the powequest partiton magic to resize the hard disc but what happened that i've deleted the hard disc so the pc couldn't start when i restart it coz there's no hard disc so what i've tried to do was to reinstall the pc using windows xp ( operating system beforewas win xp )
but i got the same problem saying there's no hard disk
so i used win vista and was great solved the problem so i thought i might back to win xp but till now still showing no hard disk anyway i need to know how can i find my hard disk for win xp ( operating system now is windows vista

Sounds like the XP install media does not support your onboard disk controller. Visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and see if they have a driver that will fit on a floppy.

If not you will have to slip stream the drivers in.

If you deleted the HARD Disk and a standard restore CD will not work chances are good you will need what is called a SYSTEM DISC. This was used on previous operating Systems that users deleted the operating system on or re-formated there system.
I suggest the use of unfamiliar software as well as user error may very well require a trip to the computer hospital.
You see it is really hard to diagnose a problem like this when we really don't know what you really did.

R U sure that you put the correct setting for your hard:

Drive C: should be active.
All drives should be formate with NTFS or FAT

first when restart your pc open your boot options by press "del" or press "F12". open hdd segment and try to find out your hdd still there, if u can't find any unfortunately it's hard to fix but if you see your hdd take the next step...

put your pc and adjust boot options to boot a:\

find another pc to make startup disk
put it your pc
then write fdisk to fix your hdd partition. if u don't know to use fdisk write me e-mail and ı try to explain.

should be a folder call " Windows.old", you files will be there if you did not delete them.
