dumb question but should a couple:
husband/wife
boyfriend/gf
buy one gift w/ both names on it or two gifts w/ each of their names on it?
okay,
what if both people are in the wedding (as bridemaids, groomsmen) then how does the gift thing work, lol....thanks!

Couples usually buy one more expensive gift, rather than two smaller gifts.

One gift. Presumably most married couples would have a joint bank account. Buy a nice gift around $50 - 100 if not in the bridal party....$100-200 value if you are both in the wedding party.
Both names are on the card.

They only need to buy one gift as a couple.
This does not preclude them buying individual gifts.
My view is that being a participant in the ceremony makes no difference, but others might view this as a reason to give separate gifts.

Buy one gift with both of your names on it. The price range is up to you and what you feel comfortable with. If you are in the wedding, you don't have to spend as much, because you are already spending on being in the wedding. Best wishes!

If you're a couple I think 1 gift with both your names on it is what you should go for, no matter what part in the wedding you have...That's just my opinion :)
Have a good day

One gift from both is correct, and labelled acordingly. It would be inappropriate for seperate gifts unless you were seperated/no longer together. If one or both people are in wedding then they still give a gift. Hope this answers your questions.

Just one gift from couples, with both names on it, regardless of your roles in the wedding. But i would definitely get something a little nicer than what you would get on your own.

when ever i go with my boyfriend to a wedding...
We take one gift...but we buy two things..
like for a wedding it is always a good combination to buy two bath towels (good if there white) and a box of chocolate (anytype just let it be a small box)
and rap that in transparent paper and in a cute wedding box and put both names on it and there you go....
i think the two bath towels constituties both people and then the chocolate is just an extra little gift...
WORKS LIKE A CHARM.....

In my opinion, if each person receives a separate invitation, each person should give a gift. If the couple receives one invitation addressed to both of them, they should just give one gift.
