What do you find the most disgusting about the Latter Day Saints?

Is it the forcing of child brides that Joseph Smith started and now FLDS Mormon leader, Warren Jeffs has allowed today? Is it their devotion to their underwear? Mormons have to buy special "Mormon underwear."

While Christians and Jews are spending their time praying to God the Mormons are spending all of their time fixated on underwear. If you talk about their underwear they say you are making fun of their faith. So their faith is in underwear?

Maybe their prophets need to stay away from the children and focus their attention on what God would want them to think about!

I mean if you're LDS.

Sorry but sometimes I get LSD and LDS mixed up. It's easy because the symptoms are the same.

Did the Mormons invent the micro-mini? At least this one is sexy! How about the slingshot thong? I find that bikini models look great in both but both do not cover much. Any opinions?

This is a question about underwear styles isn't it?

I have never, in my 30 years as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints been accused of having an underwear collection. I find it interesting that anyone would be remotely curious about my underwear. Why are you so curious?

I don't know anything about Joseph Smith and child brides. I must have missed that in all the books I've read about the history of the Church, and Joseph Smith's history. If he had more than the one wife, I seriously doubt he had to force them. Perhaps you've been reading all that anti- literature that is available on the internet. I've read a lot of it, an it is nowhere close to the truth.

You seem to be fixated on underwear, but no "Mormon" is. We spend our time fixing dinner for our sick neighbor, visiting sick friends, helping with new babies, babysitting for our friends, taking care of our own families, and praying for peace in the world.

This underwear you are so fixated on is much like your underwear, we wear it under our clothing, and no one sees it. I haven't seen yours, have I? It represents sacred covenants that we have made with God, and wearing it reminds us of those covenants.

I don't know anything about Warren Jeffs and this FLDS church you mentioned. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and our Prophet is Gordon B. Hinckley. He's a wonderful, gentle man, and I am glad he is our Prophet today.

"While Christians and Jews are spending their time praying to God the Mormons are spending all of their time fixated on underwear."

If you ever knew any Mormons intimately, you would know we "spend our time praying". Unlike many other Christian groups I've known, we probably spend more time praying especially during secular events. I pray when I wake up, prior to every meal (all 5 a day), before getting into my car, before going on an extended trip. We pray before our dances, our scouting events, our camping trips, our sporting events. I pray before I start work every day, and at the end of work I pray again to thank Heavenly Father for giving me the resources to do a job well done.

This is in no way an exhaustive list of when I pray, but so far I count over 10 times a day.

Also sweetie, it seems that you are the one obsessed with our underwear. We don't bring it up. You do. Come visit our church some time. There isn't a bouncer at the door making sure people are wearing their garments.

Okay, I'm chalking up the pure hatefulness of your question to ignorance. So let me enlighten you.

First of all, Mormons are NOT REQUIRED to wear the temple garments. They are a sign of the covenants you have made with God in the temple. You don't have a problem with the rabbi's wearing their tassels or the priests wearing collars, but we choose to wear them as an inward expression of faith. They have a deeper meaning, one we don't choose to speak of outside the temple. You talk about us focusing on the wrong things, there are catholic sects in the philippines that consider it a high honor to be nailed to a cross at eastertime! The Pope denounced it, and President Hinckley condemns the abuse of children. I don't think by talking about the temple garments you are making fun of our faith, you are making fun of the garments that you don't know anything about. Well, now you do.

Second of all, the FLDS church is NOT affiliated with the mainstream church. They are an extremist sect that twisted the words and teachings of Joseph Smith into their own sick agenda. The modern church encourages our youth to wait until they are 16 to even BEGIN dating, and then they don't want you to go on single dates until you are 18! They don't want you to get married until you are ready, because it is a very serious, important commitment to us.

We(the mainstream church, NOT the cults loosely based on it), are a god fearing people. We were some of the first humanitarian groups on the scene when Katrina hit. My best friend went down there and told me all about it. For the most part, we are a tolerant, loving group, and we jsut want to be seen for the contents of who we are, not on the actions of a select few.

I know I can't change your preconcieved notions of LDS. But I am a convert, i was baptized when i was 16, and I know that we are good people. I am sick over the testimony I read of that girl who was forced to marry her cousin. I hope that sick b.astard Warren Jeffs rots in jail for the rest of his life. But you have to believe that we aren't all like that, just like not all white people are racist. Or that all black people are thugs . Or tha all mexicans are illegal. All I can do is tell you the truth. I don't have all the answers, but if you want anymore if your questions answered, you can e-mail me. Thank you, and God bless you.

EDIT: I just realized that this was a bait question. You're a baiter, and baiters are not kewl... I hope that your fire and brimstone God is happy about what a hateful little child you are. We are all God's children, so you must worhip a hateful intolerant God.

Wow, you sure are having some trouble with our underwear! Why do you care? I could care less what kind of underwear Catholics, Jews, Christians, Muslims, whoever wear...seriously YOU need to be the one to get over it.
They are part of our temple enodowment, which is most sacred to us. There is no use explaining what the endowment is because you will either (or both) just think it is weird because you know nothing about it or continue to mock what is very sacred to millions.
And you have quite the nerve to accuse our prophets of needing to "stay away from children". You clearly have listened to idle gossip and just a bunch of garbage that is spread about the church and it's leaders...
What is wrong with being devoted to our doctrine? Why is that wrong? That would be like me saying "Gosh what is wrong with those Catholics and their crosses?" That is something sacred to them and out of respect for others, which you have none apparently, we do not put down others for what they believe.
Seriously, you need to lighten up. We know what we believe and so does the Lord, worry about yourself...
"Judge not lest ye be judged."

OMG! What is it with people of a lower mentality, who think it is okay to make snide, and ignorant remarks, and comments about a religion's practices? Garments are included in a sacred ceremony in Temples, and as such ,is not the business of non-members, to speak about, or make fun of! Do you feel it is all right to make snide remarks about a yarmaka head cap, that the Jewish wear, or how about a priests outer garments? Are they up for grabs as well?
Do you know what it suggest about your interest in people's underwear,' divine' or not? It says you are a pervert! Pure and simple!
You people might be interested in knowing, that when you denigrate another person's faith system, or beliefs, it could be considered as a hate crime?
And slander IS a crime, period! When you accuse people of child abuse, you better be able to back it up with proof!
As Jeffs has nothing to do with the LDS Church, and they are a splinter group, far removed from mainline Mormonism, you are clearly out of line!
Maybe you should go back to your Bible, and read about "doing unto others', as you clearly have no idea what that means!
Feel free to report me, but personally, I think, as a christian? You leave much to be desired! As for what 'God wants? Why don't you worry about what HE thinks of YOU!

I personally have found nothing that says he did anything more than MARRY the girls and I only know of one, Helen Mar Kimball. If you have anything different, please let me know.

I personally don't have a fixation on underwear. I don't know anyone that does (except you and a couple of other people on this site.) The faith is not in my underwear, it is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The "underwear" is part of our beliefs and to mock it, is to mock that part of our faith.

And it might be on the minds of people, but you could have been nice about it. You can get more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

Actually, it's people like you who are more fixated on our underwear than we are.
