I have the very same situation as of the past three weeks seemingly "out of the blue". Warm milk or anything else you drink or eat IS NOT GOING TO HELP! The best thing is NOT to go to bed and just lie there "trying" to get sleepy. It is best to go ahead and stay up and do what-ever you can find to do around the house- even if it's cooking, reading or watching tv. Just whatever. As with many others, you may think I am "crazy"....but certain people (which sounds as if you are one also) are VERY sensitive to weather changes, moon and planet changes & such. These things can cause us sensitive people to somewhat go hay-wire at times! Whether you believe it or not, this is true.
I have tried over the counter AND prescription sleep aids and they do not do one thing for me!!!!
Sounds like they don't help you either.
I don't know if this has helped you any- but sometimes we sensitive people just need to "understand" about things and that helps us more than anything. The more you TRY to make yourself sleep or get sleepy, the more you are not going to be able to.
So that is why I am saying to stay up and do something, anything that you want instead of going to bed when you just cannot sleep. This too shall pass!

This is a very serious condition. I have a runaway heart and I must take medication every day for the rest of my life. You may not have the same problem but it should be looked at by a doctor. Do not treat it lightly. Your pulse should be at 70-75 beats per minute (plus or minus a few beats). If it running at 120 or so then your heart is racing and it will wear out more quickly than normal. See a doctor!
