Many members of the Conservative base have always wimped their way out of service (some havent ie: McCain, Hagel) but others like Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, etc. I mean, Bush essentially pussied his way out of vietnam by going to the Texas air national guard and not even finishing his service, then when he becomes president he sends the national guard soldiers to iraq, kinda ironic..? And didn't dick cheney cheat his way out of vietnam like 5 times? If we took our 535 members of congress and compare military service, I guarantee you that the democrats have more military service then the republicans.
The conservatives should stop bashing the moderates/liberals because at least they fought for this country while you were all safe on the home front counting your money. If you never had the balls to serve, then you should talk sh**

Thanks for that. It's very ironic that the pro-war party has some very notable chickenhawks in their ranks... kind of idiotic too, that they've pushed fighting two wars at the same time (one necessary, and one out of apparent greed or lust for power).
Who knows, if Bush actually served instead of hiding out when Vietnam was calling, maybe he would've learned the so-called lessons of Vietnam and applied them to Iraq, or at least thinking about not doing it.

The fat that Romney did no longer serve in the time of Viet Nam does not hassle me. for sure being an honorable veteran did no longer help Mcain over the previous election, did it? i'm balloting for Romney because of the fact Obama has been an entire FAILURE for the rustic. He and his followers have achieved each and every thing they probably can do destroy our u . s . and our economic equipment, and optimistically Romney would be waiting to instruct issues around. in case you call Republicans Chickenhawk enthusiasts, what do you call Democrats? Racists, because of the church Obama went to, and his "mentor" Jerimiah Wright? Or how approximately Terrorists because of the help Obama has gained from bill Ayers? How approximately unlawful extraterrestrial beings because of the refusal of the Obama administration to instruct a valid beginning certificates (the pretend he has published on the cyber web website has been shown by distinctive experts to be a forgery) and he's utilising a pretend social protection extensive variety. OH, how some racial instigator, because of the fact thats what he did together with his years as a "community organizer." Wait, Democrats would be pronounced as the valueless WELFARE WASTRELS because of the fact Obama has extra suitable than doubled the variety of persons amassing welfare and foodstamps in the time of his term in place of work. How approximately Democrats = Bonfire of money, pondering Obama extra suitable the national debt by sixty one% in purely 3 years in place of work. We ran an honorable veteran who fought in Viet Nam, survived being a prisoner of war interior the Hanoi Hilton, and you challenged his skills through his wellness!!!! Why do no longer you look up the themes along with your person candidate's selective provider archives?

can you back up your guarantee? i don't it very seriously. i don't know which party has more military service nor do i think that matters. both parties have members who have served, and members who have not. up to Clinton most if not all of our Presidents had military service. all of the presidents after him did. so using your argument what gave Clinton the right to put troops in harms way anywhere he was not qualified.

While I somewhat agree with your sentiments, and fairly consider myself to be somewhat Democratic in my inclinations, I don't think your sort of comment helps much. You won't persuade anybody who does not hold your view to accept it.
Quite frankly, I don't find the behavior of Bush or Cheney, avoiding military service in that time period, offensive. After all, any sane person back in the late 60's and early 70's would have likely done what they could to avoid going to Vietnam. Even President Clinton, whom I admired very much, did his best to avoid getting drafted.
On the other hand, Bush and Cheney have many other qualities I find offensive to the point of sickening, but not their lack of desire to be in the military during VN.
Regards.

I agree with you. If republicans were pro-peace & defense then no problem. Conservatives are fanatics though, aren't they?
