Should I try indoor tanning or am or is there something i'm not doing when im at the beach or outside.

Some people's skin is not able to produce enough pigment no matter how much sun exposure you give it.

If you really want to look darker, try self-tanning lotions. They are much , much safer for your skin and they can make you look tan without actually burning your skin. You'll have to experiment with brands to get the shade to look natural, but once you got it you can be perpetually tanned without ever coming out in the sun. BUT: whenever you go to the beach, make sure you wear SPF 30 sun protection creme at all times, because artificial tan won't give you any protection from the sun.

Indoor tanning won't work for you just the same as tanning under the sun doesn't. UV burns your skin without giving it good tan.

Sorry, some people just do not have the pigment in there skin to tan. I know quite a few people who spend time in the sun or tanning booth and all they do is burn. It never turns to a tan. Why bother with the pain of sunburn if you aren't going to tan?

An alernative is the over the counter sunless tans. You just have to be careful putting it on evenly or it will show.

I use the lotions that have hint of tanning ingredient in itl It takes longer to get a noticable tan, but it looks more natural and you don't have to worry about streaks. It doesn't make you Malibu dark, but it does take away that winter white look. Olay Touch of Sun and Jergen's are two I use. Hope this helps. Think of it this way, when you get older your skin will look younger with less wrinkles because you didn't bake in the sun like your friends did! Make sure when you do go out you wear a good sunscreen so you won't be burning for nothing.

okay, say you go on vacation, the first day wear like a 30 sunblock and reapply it often. the next day wear a 30 and apply it a little less often, the next day use like a 20 and then never go without a 15. The less you wear, the more sun can get through, duh, so therefore you are gettin the sun a little bit at a time. If you were to go to the tanning bed, you'd have to go 5 minutes only for the first 2 or 3 visits, then 10 minutes...and with ur skin tone (fair obviously) you'd prolly never be able to go for more than 15, or you'd scorch. Even with these methods you won't be able to get "dark" because you lack that skin pigment. You will just be able to get some color, which is better than pasty pale I reckon lol, good luck!

Use fake tan, it won't give you cancer, burns or infection
DON'T use tanning beds, it the same as the sun...
Oh and if your going to use fake tan, it don't really stop the sun burning you, use a suncream, find the best suitable one for you!

Go slow.
Don't try to become all tan in just one day. Wear sunscreen. Skin cancer is not butch. You will get enough sun to tan even through sunscreen.
