Really...

Did god even need to create that tree?
Did he hafta place it where she could get it?
Did he hafta allow the serpent to come into the garden?

In his "all knowing" glory did he not see any of these events coming?

Eve was set up to fail the way I see it.

This "god" likes to play games...Abraham and his kid?...ha ha bet that one made him laugh huh?

Hardening the heart of Pharaoh before mosses came to him just so he could release the plagues and not appears evil for it...what a hoot

god loves to set people up...and he loves to punish them when they enviably fail…Because he's evil

What do you think?

You are correct in assuming that God was purposely, setting Eve up. Why? Because, no where do you find God warning either, Adam nor Eve about the existence of Satan - the devil. God is formulating a master plan - with His human creation - starting with our first parents. God knows exactly what makes humans tick and sees that we are predominantly - evil ! That is, we humans have the natural proclivity towards sin [evil] - it is inherent within us all. It does God no good, to only know this, but we humans NEED to become aware of this factor.
As you read along the pages of the Bible, you see God furthering His plan by manipulating people and events. No; God is not "evil" - He is love !!! BUT; why the discrepancies?
Since God assumes both, accountability and responsibility for evil (see: Isaiah, chapter 45 , verse 7 ), He assumes , equally, to deliver us all from evil and sin. Thus, enter the none other than, Jesus Christ - God in the flesh ! Although Satan currently runs this world with God's management, God has sen to it, that Jesus Christ will take the reigns over from Satan, at His [Jesus'] return to the earth. It is to this end, God is bringing the plan to us all. At Christ's return, apart from those already having their chance [Christians], the remainder of all people ever, born will then, be given their chance to learn about God, (ever wonder about all those who died, never even, having a clue about Jesus' existence ?)
The earth will be reconditioned and abundance for all will prevail - no death, nor war - ever ... WE ALL WIN !!! This is why we are made physical now - to experience pain and hurt from living life . God has our best interests in mind !!!

If I had been Eve- I would have had ALL the garden to enjoy. IF God had told me, that every part of that garden was for my pleasure, and then told me not to eat of one tree, do you think I would have listened either? NO- because no matter who would have been the first woman, or man on the earth would have disobeyed. Abraham loved his son Isaac, however He did choose obey and take his son to the top of the mountain. All the other stories you bring up here, shows the mercy of God if you just look. If God just wanted to set us up for failure and punishment, why did He bother to send His Son to die on the Cross so we could escape punishment and return to the relationship that He created Adam and Eve to have with Him in the first place? God is not evil. We did a real good job of sinning on our own- we have a choice if we are punished or not. Look to the Cross and you will find the love of God, look at ourself and we will see the wrath of God, which we deserve.

That's an interesting take on those topics. Personally I don't see any good in thinking negative towards God. Being negative and pessimistic isn't a good way to live.
Heavenly Father has a Great Plan. He knows all. Everything has a purpose. He created the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil for a purpose. He knew Eve would partake of the tree. He knew Satan would tempt her. That is why he created the Plan of Salvation. Everything has a purpose...we just have to choose to understand it. God doesn't "trick" people just for fun...He has a master plan. We are all part of that, including the evil such as Satan.
Find your part in the plan and you're life will be happy, even if bad things happen.

It's just a story. You're not supposed to believe it. The writers are rolling with laughter in their graves.

How? I think it's from non-stop brainwashing from parents, friends, and society in general beginning from birth. Some people are just more gullible than others. Religion is the most powerful device ever created by those who KNOW to control those who BELIEVE. It serves as a the psychological soil upon which other myths can flourish. =]

Let ezekiel serve as a case in point. =]

It's a set up, to both blame women for the fall of man and to make every woman and man need the church, since we are all sinners born of original sin.

But it is not a set up put forth by God, it was put forth by the Church (creators of the Bible).

It is all mythology taken from earlier myths.
Pandora's story is similar to Eve's story.
Like the Bible, Greek mythology has its own story of Creation, full of similarities and contrasts to its Christian counterpart.
According to the ancient Greeks, Pandora was the first woman to ever exist, and her story is a sad one.
In one version of the myth, Pandora is given a locked box and its key by Hermes, who tells her that she can do whatever she likes with the box besides opening it. In another version, the evils of mankind had been long ago sealed away in a jar which was given to Prometheus and Epimetheus for protection. The former myth tells of Pandora being a devious *****, who knew the box was filled with horrible things, and deliberately unleashed them into the world, saving Hope at the bottom of the box as a cruel torture. This myth portrays Pandora, and all women, as a plague upon mankind; she is seen as beautiful on the outside, but rotted out and ugly on the inside.

The latter myth sees Pandora in a somewhat more favorable light. Zeus had given Pandora the gift of curiosity; when she saw the sealed jar inside the house of her keepers, she could not stop herself from opening it just to see what was inside. Before she could seal the jar again, all the evils of the world were unleashed into the air, unable to be captured again. Pandora sealed the jar just before Hope could escape, saving mankind from total despair in times of struggle and hardship.

The story of Prometheus and Pandora is the ancient Greek version of Adam and Eve, with a pretty big twist. Eve was supposed to ease Adam's suffering on earth, while Pandora was meant as a punishment for the sins of Prometheus. However, in both stories women are portrayed as objects that can be used to serve men, and to fulfill their desires. In fact, Pandora is seen as a box herself; one of the messages shown throughout Greek mythology and throughout history itself is that women are mere containers for the desires of men.

Despite the fact that women bring life into the world, throughout mythology they have been seen as bringing death and destruction. Eve ate the forbidden fruit, and Pandora opened the jar; both actions causing suffering and death in the world were committed by women.

That's like saying parents are mean. They have kids and they buy candy and they get mad if the kid steals and eats all the candy. Then they tell them they have to obey their parents, when they know their kids will disobey and have to be punished so why do they have to have kids, isn't that just mean? What do you think?
*Edit: Sorry if i ticked you off... but they eventually WILL get it because we are naturally selfish and dont' like to hear 'no' .....and then there will have to be consequences... I get the feeling you didn't want anwers, just lashing out.....

The Bible is just a story written by men at a time when women were considered inferior. Did you actually expect men of that time to write something positive about women?

Man wrote the religous books and stories. Have you ever met a man who would accept blame for anything? No, I haven't. That is why they blamed a woman.
