I ended up taking alittle over a month off from skating dew to school tessts and we had family fly in, and i had to quite the skating club I was at, so now i'm just a member of USFSA and all that confusing stuff, But anyways i use to be able to do double, double jumps like double loop double toe ect
Now i can't even land my double salchow, and my coach is changing stuff to make it easyer, but i'm just getting confused,i don't even like my lessons anymore since i do better when i'm not in lessons, so i've been thinking about going coach-less for a year and seeing how that would work.
since I use to land everything now i don't...i don't really know what to do.
I'm one of those people who get mad at there jumps, and then i just start throwing myself into them and i messed up my knee a few years ago, now it's comming back.
Plus I'm starting a band with some of my friends and I'm have some family issuse so i'm sure the stress isn't helping...
Any advice or tiops would be great!

It can be overwhelming when everything seems to be pouncing on you all at once. How often are you taking lessons now? Maybe cut down to just once a week (or less) for now . . . that way you can give yourself some breathing room but still have your skating monitored. If your knee is acting up, then maybe some healing time would help too. Don't be too hard on yourself physically or mentally!

Be careful if you keep skating and go too long without a coach. I was off for a while from injury, and when I came back I practiced on my own before going back to lessons. I thought I was doing really well and but I acquired some silly habits I wasn't even aware of (not just in jumps - but in stroking too - argh). You can "feel", but you can't "see" yourself skate - so I think it's good to have it looked over by another set of eyes every now and then.

In the meantime, do continue with all that makes you happy. Starting a band - go for it! Sometimes a new focus can help to refocus an old focus!

Best of luck with skating and in life!

If you really want to be a competitive figure-skater, you need to have a coach so going without a coach is not a good idea. If you want to do well, you have to practice and not give up easily. When the coach gives you advice, try to follow it and do not assume that you know it all. You only have a few years to make or break as a skater so if that's what you want to do, go all out to be a good skater. Starting a band can wait. When you are not skating, try to concentrate on your school work. Your question had a lot of spelling errors and if you cannot spell properly or use proper grammar, you will have difficulties for the rest of your life (finding a job, holding down a job, etc.).

Most skaters have this same problem when they take a break for a while, I do too even when I haven't taken a break. Don't go coachless she can help you work through this until your back to the way you used to be. To help yourself do jumps off the ice and some things like stretching and strengthening. On ice practice walk throughs and this move that really helps with jumps: first you do an inside Mohawk on your right foot (left if you skate the opposite way) then step on your right foot, you should be backwards, and do a backwards three turn turning out of the circle. In the three turn your feet and arms should be in the position you are in a jump.
I can't remember the exact name for these right now at my club we call them "rittburger shritz" that's German but I'll tell you when I think of the "english" way to say it.
As for all the other things going on in your life you will be ok. I've done many things like being school teams while in the middle of the skating season and I've been fine. You just have to organize yourself and forget all those things when you get on the ice.
And don't get angry it doesn't help (you're talking to me the person that probably gets the most angry when things don't work out) if you are getting angry take a break from jumping and do walk throughs and the excersie I gave you. Relax take some deep breaths then get back to work :)
Hope I helped

If you don't feel that you have time for skating then don't skate, but if you would still like to skate trust me the your jumps will come back, it may take a little bit of time, but your muscles remember the jumps so it takes time for your body t be able to do them again. I took 2 years off from skating, and the little bit of skating that I'm able to do now is about the same as it was before since I've been able to practice some, but it has been hard for me because I still have problems with a knee surgery that I had 2 years ago. I would suggest staying with your coach if you still would like to skate, but if you don't feel like you want or are able to have time for skating then go ahead and forget skating, but just do what you feel like you enjoy more!

That's normal for taking some time off! Jumps tend to go easily, especially if you haven't been doing them for very long before you took time off. I wouldn't go coachless, because that could make you develop some bad habits that will be really hard to break. It might do you good to get a different coach, especially if you're not liking your lessons anymore. Not that your current coach is bad, but sometimes it helps to get a new view on things. Everyone explains technique differently. If you're not sure that you really want to keep skating, maybe you should take some more time off to think about it and try other things? Whatever you decide to do, good luck:)

i can relate to you. i can't do double yet. i have learned the camel a could of months ago and had traning last night and could not even do it. i fell face frist and hurt my knee.
if i were you in this situation with the band i would listen to your heart. i know that may sound stupid but you need to know what you like better. it is ok if you want to do both. i have family issues sometimes with skating. my mom has not seen me do all of this stuff. she did come to one of my lessong a year and soemthimg months ago but today i am like 10 lessons higher then what i was.
take your time when you do doubles. This is what i have to do beore i do my spread eagle. take a deep breath in and relax. if all of this does not help then talk to your coach.. she should be able to help.

I am sorry about your stress and everthing else.

I HOPE that i help you.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Maybe take a little time off from lessons... a couple weeks to a month...just to get back into it. I'm sure it'll all come back for you and you'll do fine, you just need time to readjust. Then maybe when you feel caught up, lessons won't be so bad again...you can pick up where you left off. Relax and don't let "life" interfere with skating -- sometimes it's hard to do, but let skating be your stress reliever instead of the cause. :) Don't worry, you'll do great.

oh! that sounds bad!! :( i'm sorry. i'm not that much of an "ice thearapist" cuz i'm only in basic 3 (alpha), but i DO also have my own figure skates and they are still in perfect shape and they're clean and white :), and i also LOVE figure skating just as much as you!! and if i were you i would never take any time away from figure skating ever!! and i mean EVER!!! but my bf is also off of figure skating for a while cuz of her new baby sister is still too young. but she will be coming back next season. but i always go every saturday. but if i were you i would take a step up and ask the coach for help with what ever you're struggling with and to go back helping with you're level. but still i would reall stop doing all those other stuff like starting a band and stuff (i don't mean stop the tests, i just mean like stop doing extra activities to monopolize your lovable ice time!!) so its now its your fault for some reasons! (no affense) so good luck!

P.S: sorry i have to sign out so soon, but i have my skating lesson to go to in 20 min. (what a coincidence!) i lost track of the time! sorry :) bi!
