this question has been bugging me for some time now...
on two separate occasions when im hanging out with girls they end up saying "you would make a good boyfriend"
what does that mean?!
is that like another way of saying "but dont ask me out"?
im not shy and if i like a girl i ask her out and fail numerous times >.<

Yo, I know I'm not a girl, but it is my duty as a man to help others. It just means you are on the right track but you are doing something wrong. Work on your approch, pick-up lines are stupid unless you are making fun of them. Like for instance take this one "If I told you had nice eyes, could I touch them." You might not get it but girls love this stuff. They also love it when you treat them like a bratty little sister. Don't be afraid to call them retarded. But most of all don't be a jerk. Oh, don't forget to get her email, you chump.

It's just a very good compliment that you're being paid--nothing more or nothing less.
It's like hearing, "You'll make a good dad."
That doesn't mean that a woman wants a baby from that guy. It simply means that she sees some good qualities in him that would make him a great dad.
Same with you. The girls see some good characteristics in you that would make a girl a good boyfriend.

Perhaps they have already a boyfriend, and what they see on you is something good as human quality, not necessary "but don't ask me out", I think is more like a compliment for you, not a rejection.
Is just as when we say: "You're wife is a lucky woman" is not that you want something with the guy, is just a compliment, that you are a nice guy.

Well, if there are good friends of your, they are admiting that you are boyfriend material. You are nice, easy going, a gentleman, so that should be a good comment to you.
And no, they won't ask you out. You ask out the girl that you like, like friends, it's your decision, and go from there.

in my opinion, thats her "round about way" of telling you she wants you to ask her out. As far as failing numerous times, maybe your too aggressive or come across like you rehearsed it....its easy to spot that stuff. Ask yourself how you would want to be approached and then try that.

I would say it mean's you would make a good "boyfriend" but as far as romoance is concerned its not gonna happen. im not a girl but i never been told that before and i've hooked up with many girl's so trust me bro thats gotta be it.

your a good guy and they know it but they must want a bad guy !! maybe? it doesn't mean there interrested in you for themself though i think. when they say that to you then say back to them o.k. do you want to go out with me? and see how they react to that!! then you'll know what they mean by the way they respond to your question !!
