What spirit is this? That quotes Paul's teachings to justify why the entire OT is outta date? How do you define sin then?

Not to mention, Dead sea scrolls prove the "works of the law" teaching is the MOST incorrectly translated text of them all.
http://www.mashiyach.com/scrolls.htm

So...what spirit is behind this? I say its laziness. That calls anything that requires some effort "legalism".

But we say "I want to be more like JESUS!"

He kept a Saturday sabbath.....the feasts of Leviticus and not Easter, Sundays and Christmas.

So...what spirit causes this? I believe most Christians are subject to really bad teaching. And accept man's word and justifications to slack over the Word of G-d. Any thoughts??

thanks.

Gal. 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Faith without works is dead but it is not through works we earn salvation the law is fulfilled through Christ we are not under ANY law but are by faith made new and in agreement with the righteousness of God.

Edit what spiritual principle? The same spiritual principle that says I am saved. The atonement what does it do for a man?
The law is fulfilled by Christ with the atonement.
Should we continue to worship God in traditions of law or are we made free to worship in spirit and truth?
Are we saved by the law or by the atonement of Jesus Christ?
It is through the atonement that we can follow the law not under the law but by faith changed to God's righteousness.
It is no longer a work nor is it a law we are under. The law is written on our hearts it is by the heart that we are changed by the atonment. The law doesnt change a man but through the atonemnt a man is changed.

Jesus broke the Sabbath laws:

Mat 12:1 At that time on the sabbath, Jesus went through the grain fields. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
Mat 12:2 But seeing, the Pharisees said to Him, Behold, your disciples are doing what it is not lawful to do on the sabbath.
Mat 12:3 But He said to them, Have you not read what David did, when he and those with him hungered?
Mat 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and he ate the Loaves of the Presentation, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?
Mat 12:5 Or have you not read in the Law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are guiltless?
Mat 12:6 But I say to you, One greater than the temple is here.
Mat 12:7 But if you had known what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice," you would not have condemned the guiltless. Hos. 6:6
Mat 12:8 For the Son of Man is also Lord of the sabbath.

Luk 6:6 And it also happened on another sabbath, He going into the synagogue and teaching. And a man was there, and his right hand was withered.
Luk 6:7 And the scribes and the Pharisees kept close by Him, to see if He would heal on the sabbath, so that they might find a charge against Him.
Luk 6:8 But He knew their reasonings. And He said to the man having the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle! And rising up, he stood.
Luk 6:9 Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you one thing, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbaths, or to do ill, to save a life, or to destroy it?
Luk 6:10 And having looked around at them all, He said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he did so. And his hand was restored sound as the other.
Luk 6:11 But they were filled with madness and talked to one another as to what they might do to Jesus.

The law can only say guilty, guilty, guilty, it cannot save anyone. Christians are under grace, not law.

Heb 10:1 For the Law had a shadow of the coming good things, not the image itself of those things. Appearing year by year with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually, they never are able to perfect the ones drawing near.
Heb 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? Because those serving did not still have conscience of sins, having once been cleansed.
Heb 10:3 But in these there is a remembrance of sins year by year,
Heb 10:4 for it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Heb 10:5 For this reason, coming into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me.
Heb 10:6 You did not delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices concerning sins."

Read the book of Hebrews, it will help you understand the difference between the law and what Christ did.

Faith is what matters. You can believe in bible or not. Of course if u read it literally many doubts will arise.
Sin is just a word for telling us that certain behaviors or acts hurts only ourselves. .
Think about the 10 commantment points to our own safety, as the human laws does.
Since we are human we are all subjected to errors, as the teaching we had.
So you are free to question all the subjects u mention. Some time we don t have all the answers, Our conscience it s the best guide, but we have to educate that conscience and renew it from old schemes. You are in a good direction making questions. It means yo will keep seaarching for your own truth and beliefs. Not for waht other say.

CLEARLY there are many deed based aspects of Christianity. No true Christian can believe that they in their salvation that they are not expected to perform. We are to be as Jesus was; i.e., a servant. We are here to SERVE!

The problem is that many people put the cart before the horse. It's like thinking that you cannot be saved without being Baptized. WRONG! You are Baptized BECAUSE you are saved. The same for deeds. You cannot EARN your way into heaven by doing. You cannot EARN your sins away. You are saved by faith and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. But ONCE you recognize those truths then you should expect to act on your faith to perform your duty.

Well you can add Peter to that list also. You might not be aware of this, but Peter had the same Idea, and he was the only one at the time who got it right at the council of Jerusalem in Acts 15.

This is what I am talking about:
7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

613 by the count of many. 613! What are you going to do David T? What are you going to do. How many people who you have ever HEARD of, has been able to do them, David T?

Sacrifice any goats lately ?

Please, Paul had it right, and Peter had it right, and JEsus had it right.

18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5)

Trying to make yourself great in the kingdom of Heaven? Finding yourself falling a little short? All 613, David T?

You can't be serious.

People reject what the Bible says because they do not believe God.

Yeshua said ;

Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

I would submit from other scriptures that there isn't much real faith on earth.

Luke 9:41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you?

That is precisely why there have been protestant and restoration reforms in church history.

Paul never said the OT was out of date. That is simply a misconception by the unbelieving and uneducated.

The traditions and laws you mentioned have nothing to do with the Christian faith of any gentile. I suspect based on everything wrote that you dont have the first clue what Christians teach or dont teach. I encourage you to become part of a Christian church and learn the truth for yourself.

in christianity, the purpose of "the law" was to show that man could not live by the literalness of the law and still attain heaven/salvation. man could never keep the letter of the law because the law was, and is, works-based. man would never be good enough for god's perfection and holiness. jesus, being god himself, came to fulfill the law and complete the law on mankind's behalf. that is why christians celebrate grace and the doing away of the law. it's not that the law was made void. no, god met the standards of the law himself, and offered his payment for it to man.
the law is real, just as god's commandments are real. a christian will follow them, but the law no longer condemns the christian since he has his advocate in jesus christ. christ met the standards of the law and was found righteous.

To understand bible you need to get right to sarcasms used by Jesus and actually follow his word as you understand to day .Others in bible have their testimony of what they feel or see or understand up on the time. For example : Word "free will " for each single person up to situation (mentally and physically) has different mean and as Jesus try to understood people, that each person has its own communication with its God ,up on this fact that God is same as yesterday ,today and tomorrow.

OT is not outdated. It is a record about what has happened in the history. We are under the new covenant.
