What is the ONE TRUE RELIGION?

can anyone give some solid reasoning or examples??

I dont need understanding, and am not looking for religion. I am merely looking into the viewpoints of others arround the world.

First-the bible says the Lord hates religion. Meaning, he hates what we do with it-all the rules and all the definitions we attach to his word. The word says if we beleive on him we will be saved. it doesn't say if we wear dresses only-or if we wear no makeup, or if we don't drive cars-etc. There is not one true religion. We will be amazed to see all the different religions represented when we get to heaven. The truth to follow is in the word of God. We can be catholic, jewish, budhist, baptist, etc as long as we beleive on him and carry him in our hearts and strive to opey his commandments we will be saved and what we call ourselves is unimportant.

I wish I knew a way to rate this question. This is best I have come across since being on the web.
The question though is flawed. There is no way to rate religions. That is why there are so many. Everyone wants to find A) the meaning of life B) to know that there is more to existence than this C) That there is a purpose to life that someone out there wants us.
All religions need to be scraped. The actual point of any religion is to come closer to God. And the mere act of making it a ceremony comes between you and God. If you meet with like minded people who share your passion for wanting to have a communion with God is one thing. But, First you must study the word of God, Pray to develop a communication with God, And develop inside a presence of God. Also, You must accept God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. That is not negotiable. Remember that The whole purpose of Developing this relationship with God is to draw close to him. IF you love YOUR child do you get rid of him or draw them near. That is what God does. Do you think he wants religion to separate him from you.?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. How do I know. Well first, common sense lead me here. One God means one gospel. Someone, God through His prophet has to direct and lead the children of God. A person of authority, one ordained by the priesthood of God. The LDS church believes in modern day revelation. Listed below is an excellent article by Gordon B. Hinckley. It comes down to this, either there was a dark ages and the catholics lost the priesthood. Therefore it had to be restored and the Mormons claim a restoration. OR the dark ages never existed and the catholics have kept the priesthood line for 2000 years.

Do care to define first RELIGION.

In my own opinion the first of those who seek God away from the Church God was the very process that created the birth of the word Religion.

Those who rebelled against Church Authorities seek God away from the dogma of the Church. Thus branded by the so called vicar of Christ as atheist.

They wish and hope to be binded back to the "true God" - and thus they are on track on ONE TRUE RELIGION - literally they are the seeker of TRUTH.

To the best of my opinion there should not be religion. There are ways of life - ways of living - and not religion. It is divisive.But the Vicar of Christ who falsely represent Christ and are Ignorant of Science became religious sect also who assumed to represent Kingdom of God (false at that also) while those who rebelled against them also on religion - they may aptly in history have created and represented the State or Government - Church and the State like oil and water do not mix.

Thus religion of the Church versus religion of the State. I prefer the latter at least they believe in a God but not the God ignorantly taught by the Church.

The greatest historic blunder against humanity and thus against God is when the Church forced their dogmas and humiliated the men of letters and science in distant past - the inquisition and dark ages of Europe was Church crime against humanity and thus against the true God of Nature and Universe.

Men of letter and science who realized there is God after junking the concept of the Church, and seek God and wish to be rebinded back of God is the one on true religion.

Whatever the individual decides. I get so sick and tired of the religious people who think they are so ******* holy and great. NO one has any idea who is right or wrong in their religion, its just what they believe, so leave everyone alone, and believe what you want. Nobody is to tell anyone that they are going to hell, or whatever, because they dont believe in their certain "God" well, they might have a different belief and "God" and so they will, who knows, who cares, I believe what i want to , and no one can tell me im wrong, because they dont know.Thats the whole point of faith, believing in the unknown, trusting your life to something youve never seen and cant comprehend. So if you dont have facts for me, which no one does because its not possible, dont tell me that your religion is the "true" or "real" religion.

They all are true religions. But if you want to know God, then Jesus said:

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

And he said this:
24 "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins." ( John 8)

So Jesus provided us a way to know God. But Jesus left Earth after the resurrection from the dead. But when he did, He promised the Holy Spirit to come to the Earth.

It is through trusting God that we receive the Holy Spirit, and it is from Him that we have a relationship with God.

The One True Religion, as obviously stated in the South Park Movie, is Mormonism. Geez. Try to keep up with pop culture. Most of your deep philisophical answers have already been poised there.
On a serious note, you people need to get a life - spend less time worrying about one true religion, one true god, one true path to happiness and salvation. The only people who claim that there's only one true anything is probably just trying to scare you into believing what they want, which is extremely ignorant and belies all that is moral and ethical on which religions are based.
So why don't you stop wasting everyone's time and do something good for the world, like go pick up trash off the highways or something.
