This verse says they can, if they repent and believe:

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. "
I Corinthians 6:9-11

If they stop haveing gay sex and appologize to God, same as any other type of sin.

-----------------------
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
~1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NIV)

Since its beginnings in the 1970s, the ex-gay movement has engaged gay advocates in a battle of testimonies. Transformed ex-gay leaders are the best argument for their movement. Likewise, those who've left the ex-gay movement in despair and disgust are the best counterargument....

...New research may change the terms of debate. Psychologists Stanton Jones of Wheaton College and Mark Yarhouse of Regent University released today a book detailing their findings from the first three years of an ongoing study. They are investigating participants in 16 different ex-gay programs associated with Exodus, the largest ex-gay ministry group.

The results show that some participants experienced significant change, though the change was usually partial, not complete. Furthermore, participants showed no additional mental or spiritual distress as a result of their involvement in the ex-gay program. This study is the first to use multiple interviews and questionnaires over a period of years, assessing participants from near the beginning of their involvement in an ex-gay program....

no, they can't.
unless they are saved, and stop the homosexuality.
it is a sin for a man to lie with another man, as he would lay with a woman.

1 Corinthians 6:9 says-
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be decieved: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators, nor adulterers nor male prostitues nor homosexual offenders.."

but that doesn't mean if you're gay that you're condemned to hell forever.
if you ask for Christ to enter into your life,
and you forget your sinful ways, and let go of the homosexualism, and ask God to forgive you.
You can surely be saved, and enter the gates of Heaven.

In my personal opinion, it is very unlikely. Mind you, it's NOT being they sin. We ALL sin! But the gay community unlike other sinners does things quite differently. Just consider those words, "the gay community." "Gay" means HAPPY! Gee, we're HAPPY sinners! Oh, wait! They say they are HAPPY, but they don't admit that they sin. And they align themselves as a community.

Think of any other sin, be it lying, thieving, bullying, gossiping, murdering, or whatever. There is no COMMUNITY for these people! They are outcasts. They feel shame! There's no liars pride marches or murderer's pride marches. There is no one saying that murder or lying are NOT sins, but simply alternative lifestyles. No one is indignantly saying that they are HAPPY liars or cheats or gossips. And so on.

If a homosexual stays closeted. If he or she truly believes that this lifestyle is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. If the homosexual fights with all of his or her might to resist the temptation. If he or she prays for help. Acknowledges that he or she is weak and unworthy of heaven. In other words, if this particular homosexual behaves as any other sinner then he or she could go to heaven. But to EMBRACE your sin, to deny that it's a sin, to basically call God and the Bible liars. You tell me. Is that the path to righteousness?

Well, if you believe that homosexuality is a sin, (some don't, some do)... I think no one on earth is perfect and sinless, we can strive to be sinless, but I learned God forgives all sins, except associating partners with him... So even if you are gay, you might be guilty of a sin (one of the ten commandments, thou shalt not commit sodomy), but God can forgive you if he so chooses.. Its all up to his decision anyways.. he is the ultimate judge!

Anyone has a chance to go to heaven "if" they do the Lord's will. Sexual preferences are of the "flesh" not "spirit" and Jesus exemplified the fact marriage or who we go to bed with is not important as this woman married 7 brothers and Jesus never SAID she was "barred" from entering heaven........

Well, that's a tough one to answer without pissing someone off... but here's my perspective... I do not live a perfect, sinless life, but I believe that I am going to Heaven because I have Jesus in my heart. Homosexuals do not live a perfect, sinless life, either... but using the same logic I use with myself, I would have to say that if they have Jesus in their heart, they will go to Heaven.

Why not !
A gay person is capable of asking forgiveness and trying to live without sin.

I asked this, too, and I when I got the response, I remembered that they could: "[...] so that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16. Keyword is: "Whoever", and not "Whichever heterosexual." (Thanks to Michael B, by the way, for the response).

Also, as long as they repent, or simply, not commit any of those sins, as it is an abomination. It wouldn't really seem purposeful to me, if you were to create someone and never give him a chance. It would almost be as if you were born and destined to go to Hell. God GIVES them a chance. We must thank Him for that.

If there is a heaven then it is open to all if the god that runs it so chooses. It is not for humans to know or anticipate the wishes or intentions of gods.
