no it is NOT a sin! do you know how many unwanted children there are out in the world today because people are either too ignorant or don't have the means to use birth control? what is the point of not using it, getting pregnant, and then just abandoning your baby so he/she can die a few days later or spend his/her life fighting starvation (this is extreme i know, but in third world countries this is the NORM). What about those people you hear of in this country WHO THROW THEIR BABIES IN DUMPSTERS?! A baby should only be brought into this world if it is going to be loved and have a good life..

Even in America..i see these families on tv who have 15 kids because they refuse to use birth control and hump like rabbits..i mean i don't doubt their love for their children but oh man...enough is enough!.strange strange strange...

Yes birth control is a sin and giving a child birth when you can't afford or when you are not ready at all and driving the child's whole life into a nightmare is not a sin! (?) Are you kidding? Look how many innocent homeless children are there. I bet If their parents used something today they wouldn't be that way.

Birth control is or SHOULD be common sense. A couple shouldn't have more children than they can financially or emotionally care for.

So no, it isn't a sin. To NOT use birth control when it should be used, is downright immoral.

That all depends on several factors- Are you married to the person you are using it with? Are you using it to kill a baby (morning after pill) or just to prevent a pregnancy? If you are taking birth control so you CAN sin, then I would say yes it is a sin.

Grey area.

And what I mean by that is that we arent killing life that we know to be living and growing as in abortion, we are simply preventing life from occuring. The Bible exclusively makes no claims.

The Q should be, "is not wanting kids a sin?" My personal religious view is that by using birth control, you are potentially denying life to what would and could be your children. I believe that like all things in life, we do, we give, and we love based on what our faith is able to allow at that paticular moment in time. I view kids as I view a marriage; as both a curse and a blessing. If you dont want them, dont have them. But your reasoning is ALWAYS crucial. If you dont want a baby simply because of the perscieved financial strain or youre afraid you wont love it, you dont have a very commendable faith at all. But say if you dont want kids yet because youre waiting for a better time, or perhaps serious medical risks, I believe that decision is yours to make. I believe children are like a gift that comes a lot of responsiblity and I say if you think youre not ready, then by all means dont do it.

But in my heart I view birth control as a sign of unfaithfullness. My first daughter was born just a short time after my wife went on birth control. Was I happy she was pregnant just 3 short weeks after us getting married? Not at all. If I could go back in time and change it, would I? Absolutely not. If simple destiny dictates to me that I have 9 kids, so be it. I believe that if I deny life to any children that I wouldve otherwise had, I'm less of a Christian then what I aspire to be.

First we could no longer stay in the process the Catholic church teachings. they are the biggest hypocrites that exist. this is not any longer a sin through fact at times human beings use it for scientific reason and to no longer preclude you from having toddlers. I had a topic a whilst back and my docs prescribe me start administration pills, which cured me. and that i'm nevertheless a virgin. and don't you think of its an even bigger sin to deliver a baby into the international to have the toddler bypass starve given which you haven't any longer have been given any money?

God everyone needs to realize that trying to prevent pregnancy is NOT always the reason women take birth control. Some women or girls have to take it because they have dysmenorrhea (painful periods) and birth control reduces pain and makes periods shorter, not because they're sexually active! So how do you know she takes it because she doesn't want to get pregnant. And no its not a sin to answer your question.

Of course it is not a sin.
In my opinion a sin is having children that you can't support because you don't have the financial or the emotional means.

Most people who're natives of any "Third World"
countries would say so.
But, if there's anything else that birth-control is...
it's "sinfully" logical.

If you are a catholic, then you can believe it is if you want to. I am not catholic or christian, and I accept it because it helps to keep the population down and that is important if the Earth is to continue to be able to support us.
