NSA Mid-South, Millington, Post 9/11 Security duty. The teams were great, had LOTS of time off, working 12 hour shifts 2 on 3 off, 3 on, 2 off, so every other weekend was a three day weekend.
There was no base galley, so the base added an extra $900. a month for meals. Every sailor there had their own personal room with no inspections, private heads, queen size beds.
Every one of us there knew that no matter where we went after that, that we would NEVER have it that good again.
I miss my team, the civilians that worked on base, the area.... GOOD TIMES!

My favorite duty station while in the Navy was Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific. Unfortunately the command does not exist any more, the base was taken over by COM3RDFLT. It was a good place to go as a student, and was a good place to work as an instructor. We were allowed to work in relative autonomy as long as we met our objectives.

I can't speak for myself but I can pass along my fathers experiences. 1. US Army, US Army Reserves 2. Cav. Scout, Driver- He said he enjoyed both of these but maybe Driver a little bit more. He attended a tactical driving course and additional schooling on ambush and body guard tactics. 3. '80- 90' 4. Germany 5. More stories than I can type. 6. Various parts of the world 7. E6 8. None clean enough to mention

Navy Regional Medical Center Okinawa, Japan. I was a "plank owner" when we took it over from the Army in February of 1977. I had quarters for my family and myself a block from my office. It was my third tour in Okinawa, so I spoke a lot of the language and knew the local customs. The climate is similar to Hawaii and you could get a "hop" to a lot of other spots in the Pacific.

Okinawa Japan. At first I did not like Japaneses people but I found out there the most friendly people I have ever met. It made me understand people are all the same and they just want to get by in life like me. I had many good time in Okinawa and made some real good Japanese friends and a Japanese girlfriend.
