You'll want to find a good vet. Usually they do them between 8 and 12 weeks. Don't listen to everybodys rude OPINIONS on ear cropping. It is a personal choice, and if done correctly, does not torture the animal. Our dog did great, and only whined for a second, then stopped. No problems after that.

At a pro-ear cropping site the recommended age for the breed is 12 weeks, but there can be complications even if your dog is in best of health.
I have an APBT and I LOVE her ears like they are. (UN-cropped) and also by breed standard for show, AKC, the ears can either be cropped or not. Either is acceptable. I can't imagine my dog without her full ears!
Honestly, cropped ears on a Pit Bull or Am-Staff just look weird to me.
Some people try to do it themselves and even some Vets can botch the job when they don't have a lot of experience at it. So, why not keep the ears?
Not to mention that there is lengthy aftercare and if not done right, the ears can be damaged.
Enough of that now. Just be sure if you insist on doing it, you get a Vet with LOTS OF experience in cropping ears of this breed.

It is becoming more and more difficult to even find Vets that still crop ears. There are more dogs going into the show ring 'natural'. I don't know that it will happen to all breeds but right now you see far more natural Dobermans than you might imagine. Since it is getting to be more popular to just leave the dog natural, you might consider it. There can be considerable risk to doing a dogs' ears. The ears are full of blood vessels and they bleed profusely.

7-9 weeks of age.. IF You need to have it done.. The surgery is hard on them.. People who tell you it isn't, are lying to you.. It's a long surgery, it's no different than going in for any other surgery.. They are put under w/ anesthesia and there are more risks than a regular spay/neuter. And the ears might not stand after all that..

Dogs w/ natural ears are far more approachable by strangers.. People are far less likely to fear your dog.. Making it much easier to properly socialize the dog.. which is the important thing .. RIGHT???

Do you really need the ears cropped? Unlike tail docking, cropping the ears is a very painful procedure, and there can be complications. Unless you intend to show your dog, there is really no reason to put either your dog or yourself through this, and it's becoming increasingly common to see dogs with their ears left natural.

Why do you want to mutilate your dog? They look great with the ears left natural, and most people will form a negative opinion of both you and your dog on sight if you crop its ears.

2-3 months old. But ask yourself why you are doing it. Is it for looks or for a purpose. Are you going to hunt the dog? Cropping intimidates people and is only necessary if you are going to hunt or try to scare people. There arent alot of places to get it done anymore either.
