You can get a sore throat from sleeping with your mouth open, and if there is cold air blowing into yet all night, yest that can cause your sore throat. Also, if you have air conditioner in your car blowing into your face all day long you will get a sore throat because there is no moisture in cold air.

You definately can! I think it has something to do with the air being circulated and making it drier, though I'm not going to say I'm certain on that. I know whenever I sleep with a fan on, especially if it is blowing directly on me I end up with a sore throat the next morning.

I do this every night, and I have no problems with my lungs. Been doing it for about 27 years. Any doctor who says that sleeping in a breeze--manmade or natural--will, make you sick, shouldn't be allowed to apply a Band-Aid, much less practice medicine. The only conceivable situations where a fan *might* cause you problems are if you never clean your fan, or dust your furniture, and it's blowing dust into your face, or if you have allergies to pollen, and are using it to bring outside air into your room when the pollen count is high. Also, some people do have a tendency to "dry out" if they have a fan blowing on them while they sleep--but if it doesn't bother you now, it won't cause you any problems in the long run, either.

Yes you can. You can also get muscle aches because your body is trying to keep your muscles warm so they retract. Sore throats are just from the cold air blowing you and breathing it in. I believe, at least.

probably, i mean it's blowing air at you and unless you have a mister, the air could be fairly dry. and if you sleep with your mouth slightly open or with your nose at a certain angle, the air will blow straight in and dry out the back of your throat.

Yes it definately does happen. Has happened to me alot. I think it happens because it dries out your throat. Try pointing the fan on your legs instead of head if you are hot at night. It worked for me! :)

Yes, its true because it happens to me. All I can think of is that the constant air hitting my face causes my throat to dry out and become scratchy. I usually feel kind of stuffy too.
