Isaiah was a son of Amoz and a citizen of Jerusalem. Isaiah's ministry most likely extended from the death of King Uzziah in 739 BC to the reign of King Manasseh in 697 BC.

About 700 years before Christ he wrote of Him. See Isaiah 53 to read about the Passion. Its in 53:5 we find, " By His stripes we were healed."
It is primarily through Isaiah that Christians embrace the Old Testament along with the New, calling the New Covenant and the Advent of Jesus Christ the fulfillment of OT prophecy.
