I'm not talking about runway models or high fashion models but more about print models. I'm very skinney in norm,al perspectives but I'm not so thin in the modeling world. My measurements are 37, 23, 36.m Im know all of the normal requiremnts for modeling but my weight isn't quite the normal standared of modeling. I am signed with an agencie but I havn't been getting as many jobs as I would like. Do you think it has to do with my weight because I feel everything else is going for me?
Thanks!

Maybe you should try some non-traditional modelling, like for fetish wear such as corsets, PVC clothes and that type of thing. I don't mean anything tasteless or nude, but a lot of women with unusual measurements have had a lot of success in more underground type settings. Maybe you could also investigate where edgier designers get their models from. People like Anna Sui, who don't design traditional clothes. Another thing you could try is creating your own web site for self promotion. Search the web anywhere and everywhere for opportunities and use it as a calling card. Another thing - do you have business cards? If not get some. Whenever you meet anyone with a connection to fashion, entertainment or modelling give them your card. Or even try non-traditional things, like research designers or companies you like and send them a CD with your portfolio. Tell them why you like their clothes and why you think they should hire you to model them. The worst they can do is ignore you. If you want something badly enough you have to be willing to think outside the box and create your own opportunities.

I think for the majority, most models are skinny. Why not get some average sized people out there modeling. I mean so much of the world out there is obese now. I think you should just keep going with your career and you should do fine.

Yes all models are to skinny...

And yes. Weight, shape and appearance are taken into account immediately and almost subconsciously. Hopefully you have some other good quality that they are seeing in you (like a great smile, attitude, etc.)

i personally prefer an athletic build on a woman versus the skinny type. note that you can be both skinny AND athletic/toned. i think that's the best combination. however, skinny with no muscle tone (for both men and women) is unattractive....in my opinion.

but to answer your question, yes, i think models nowadaws, especially in runway, are a tad bit on the skinny side.

Don't sweat it, my dear. There are many in your place. Personally I think models are generally too skinny. They look like they'd die if they had a decent meal. It's not healthy.

WOAH youre SUPER curvy!
i don't think it has to do with your weight, i think it's just your build. your built really super curvy, i think that makes you harder to market, unless you're marketed in south american countries.
not all models are too skinny. i think adriana lima has the right body.

if you can see their bones - yes they are too skinny - they look sickly - not no bones are showing - probably not "too"
skinny - just thin - which looks much much much much better
