a million. within the starting, via levels, French is slightly tougher. Pronunciation isn't very phonetic in comparison to Spanish, and French has a quantity of practices that do away with many pauses among phrases, via including, relocating, or replacing sounds past syllable obstacles -- that means that a almost always seems like a unmarried lengthy phrase, and is said otherwise than its element phrases in isolation. two. for those who persist with the language in university for four years or past (and continually come to be utilizing it), then Spanish grammar, mainly with the subjunctive temper, is way more complicated than French. This is from two academics who taught French and Spanish, as good as folks on Yahoo Answers who talk each. If you are a well speller, then French shall be simply as convenient as Spanish, within the starting. If spelling is an difficulty for you, then cross with Spanish. From a foreigner's viewpoint, spoken French may be very so much tied to the written language.

For an English speaker French is as hard to learn as Spanish. It's becaus French and Spanish are related and have no connection to English.
If you are an English native speaker and want an easier language, learn German.

To me they are both the same. They both have there strengths and weaknesses. French is closer to English so you can get the accents right. But Spanish is easier to write. French can also be harder to get the twists in speech correctly ( You have to switch your tone and speed constantly) but in Spanish you have to speak really fast.

I'm fluent in both and although my native language is English, I have used Spanish at home and in business for decades. It is my personal and professional opinion that Spanish is easier for Americans, both because of the simplicity of pronunciation (grammatically and syntactically French and Spanish are equally complicated), as well as for the predominance of opportunities to hear and use authentic Spanish in the US. It's not so easy to find that in French.
