There are 3 classes of digital cameras, the consumer view finder fixed lens type costing ~ $ 350 or less, The prosumer SLR type with removable lens, costing $1000 on down, and the professional cameras, costing over $1000. They are all very good for your choice of what you want them to do, so it is a case of pocket book and personal choice. The consumer cameras are again divided into 2 classes, the one has a small viewfinder window as well as the big screen on the back. The other lacks the smaller finder and you have to use the bigger screen to see what you are going to shoot. That can be a real hassle in bright sunlight. In the ~ $200 class, it becomes more a "feel" as to what you think you like, so try holding etc. several models. The quality is going to be about the same with all of them in that price range. The Kodak has an excellent reputation, so look at it for sure.

Hi, this camera may cost a little more that you would like, but it is a REALLY great camera.
This camera is PERFECT for vacations, traveling, or just life in general!
Here is the PERFECT camera for you!
You should get the PENTAX Optio W30. Its slim, sleek, stylish, with 7 megapixels, has lots of features like a macro setting for pictures up to half an inch away! Plus its waterproof down to 10ft for 2 hours!!
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 for a few years and I have never had ANY problems with it at all! It is such a great camera and I LOVE it!
It has TONS of features, VERY good picture quality, its sleek & stylish. And its waterproof! You can see the camera here: http://www.pentaximaging.com/products/pr...
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slightly older version) for a few years now and I absolutely LOVE it!
(If you half press the button and hold it half way, it gets the camera ready to take a fast picture, then right when you want to take the picture, press the button fully and it takes the picture right away! The camera also turns on in about 2 seconds!)

I've been happy with the Fujifilm Finepix F10. I bought it because of its good performance in low light, but it also happens to have very good battery life and a bright flash. Since it's two years old, you can buy it new for under $150. Spend the rest on a big memory card.

First of, I would get a camera that uses an SD card- you can hook it up to your computer faster. Get a camera like HP or Canon
