I'm not sure how to answer this. What do you mean "What can happen"? Well, you could have an accident because you couldn't signal a turn to other drivers. Or you could get a ticket for not signaling. Or both. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.

i had a similar problem. i just replaced the flasher, it was a small cylindrical thing near the fuse box, there is one for the emergency flashers and one for the turn signals, neither costs much. your manual should tell you which is which.

There is a device under the dashboard that controls the lights and makes them blink (I'm brainless right now so can't think of what it's called) but it usually is a small cylinder made of metal or plastic that can be replaced.

Check to see if your bulbs need replaced. If they are burned out there will be broken wires inside the bulb. It is usually easy to replace them. Take the burned-out bulb to an auto repair store & get a new one just like the old one.

Check all bulbs. I mean "all" bulbs. Parking lights, turn sigs, hazzards etc. replace any bad ones. If still not working change out flasher.

Lets see...You can get a ticket if you don't get that fixed right away or can even get in a car accident. But maybe if you go to a garage, you know where people fix your cars and such, lol uh...Ask them to run a test on your car.

Try changing the flasher unit itself, located under the dash. AutoZone has them pretty cheap.
