as stated yes it will be enough to cleanly kill a deer with become very accurate and make sure of the vitals and use razor sharp broadheads.

YES...having grown up with a 40lb recurve when I was a young man I can tell you first hand that you can drop a Deer with a 40Lb Bow of any kind, be it Compound or Traditional, or Recurve Bow. 40lbs draw weight was the minumum most states required for Deer Hunting for many years. It's still that way in a majority of States......Good Luck and a successful hunt.....

YES
My x GF made a pass through on a Mature doe at 37 yards with hers set on 36#, shooting 22 inch PSE domanator 100's, & 100 gr Montec's.
Check your local laws on poundage restrictions, in NC it is 35# for compound bows.

YES, but remember to place your kill shot accurately & limit your shooting distance to the Deer no further from you to 30 yards.* I prefer 45 to 47lb myself.*

yes it is just stay within 30 to 35 yard shots max and like with any bow shot placement is most important.i would also consider fixed blade broadheads instead of expandable for this weight, most of the expandables like the ones i shoot have a huge cut and would decrease penetration. happy hunting

Yes it is strong enough, but you still need to hit a vital area,
and your arrowheads need to be sharp.
