There's a very good chance he will. I mean, he's a four-time Cup champ with a face that was made for television.
He already has the TV chops - he fills in for Regis Philbin on Live for pity's sake - stage presence, interview skills, and he's one of the more well-spoken drivers on the track.
Plus, take a look at the current crop of analysts: SPEED's got both Waltrip Brothers, Ken Schrader, Greg Biffle, and Brian Vickers; ESPN uses Rusty Wallace and Boris Said (as well as an in-race reporter). I think there's room for Gordon in that field.

I hope his career as a retired driver and commentator starts next year. As long as DW was driving I thought he was one of the worst things that ever happened on a track, but when he turned in his key and started running only his Jaws I started to like him, and the more races he covers the more I like him. If Jeff Gordon retires after this year I might start to like him too, but it would take longer than it did with Darryl.

Jeff Gordon does not have a good commentator voice. It sounds like he talks through his nasal passages, which is why people always accuse him of whining. He is going to retire a rich man, and will not need the paycheck. He co-owns the 48 team, I'd say look for more ownership when he hangs up the helmet.

He has the looks, as long as he doesn't whine he should do just fine. He has done alot of TV already, filling in for Regis, and he was on Saturday Night Live, but I fell asleep. I'm sure he'll be on some Nascar show or a commentator when he retires, but I don't think he is ready to retire, he's not even 40 yet.

To be honest, I think he will just enjoy his millions (near billion) and live he good life. If nothing else, he may become an owner....perhaps a joint venture with Hendrick.

Of course. He has already been filling in as guest host on Regis & Kelli - Why not? He has to be better than Rusty or DW.

Hell no! Not with that "nasal" sounding voice of his. Besides he's so rich and famous, i'm sure he'll have better things to do.
