I don't know if he's in pain or what, but he keeps on meowing all the time... ?

He was fixed, but even so this meowing seems to go on almost perpetually whenever he is around me for the last few months

Sort of new... before he only used to meow when I pet him...

It's pretty much all the time though; he can't be in heat all the time

The best thing to do is to take him to the vet as it seems like he is trying to tell you something and it is best to rule out any medical problem.

Is this something new, or does he always meow a lot? Some cats are more vocal than others, but if this is a new thing it could be a sign of illness.

I would make a vet appointment just to ruel anything medical out but that said...some cats are just more vocal. My cat will actually argue with me. When he is doing something he isn't supposed to do and I tell him to stop or usually to get off my kitchen counter... he will do that "cackin' thing" that they do at birds at me. And a similar thing when I ask him questions. But mostly only does it when I am getting onto him for something he knows not to do. He looks me right in the eye too.

its in heat.. my friends cat did that repeatedly would meow all night long, it would usually only last a few days every now and then. even though they are fixed, it dosent stop their desires, either that or its simply miserable. and wanting attention.
