I love it too. Its a combination of tomato, carrot and celery juice. Making your own is a great idea too because the kind you buy has been boiled and it loses it's natural enzymes that actually heal many digestive problems. You can also buy the cheap generics. They are simply called vegetable juice. Try it with beer 1/2 and 1/2. Delicious and a cure for a hangover. If you make your own to preserve by canning it will have to be boiled to remove any bacteria that causes it to spoil. First parboil your tomatoes to remove the peels when they cool a bit then put them back in the pot with the water not too much water and boil them until all the juice is cooked out of them and the tomatoes will mash up to pulp. Remove the pulp and strain the juice to remove the seeds and remaining pulp. Next you'll have to use a juicer or a food processor to grind the carrots and celery to remove their juices. Strain it and I would probably do 1 part tomato to 1 part carrot and add a little celery juice to your taste preference. This also makes wonderful stock for vegetable soup and stews. I'm getting hungry now.

V8 is good for you to a certain extent. Anything that is canned has to be preserved. If you want the healty benefits of a V8 juice, you should invest in a juicer. I was always told that if you let a vegetable juice sit for so long, it depletes its nutritional value. Same rule applies to oj. Frozen is always better than bottled, cartoned or canned.

Check the label for calories and Sodium content. THAT should answer your question. If you have a juicer...look at the ingredients on the label and juice those vegs. I did the same thing with Bean with Bacon soup. I now make my own and it tastes just like the canned stuff only lower sodium and fewer fat grams and calories.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aMHNw
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Yes, it is very healthy for you. It has tomatoes, carrots, celery, etc. in it. They do have a low sodium version of V8 and you could give that a try if you wanted. V8 is great to drink if you are trying to loose some weight and don't have time to get all your veggies in.

It is processed and consequently dangerous. In order for it to be healthful, it demands nutrients and enzymes. It is poor in each classes. In order to be canned and damaged down into an answer, it demands to be cooked. Vitamins dont' do wellbeing cooked and are on the whole killed or their pH has converted and consequently do not metabolize the equal means to your frame. Enzymes -- matters in uncooked meals you must digest -- are killed off. Plus, V8 has plenty of salt. Salt, in significant quantities -- and we get plenty in our diets (over the day-to-day restrict) -- will extract minerals from our bones. To get a whole serving of culmination and veggies, consume uncooked and contemporary veggies. Frozen would not have enzymes and little or no nutrients. They end up empty energy. I nearly forgot, v8 could have nutrients indexed in teh vitamins data, however their fortified. When nutrients are fortified, it is very not going they're going to soak up.

Making your own would be the healthiest. It was suggested to me from a naturapath but i had to include vegies like spinach in mine. I didn't like it but you can use whatever you want in yours. That is the best way to get lots of vitamins as most of the vitamins are in the juice of fruit and vegetables.

You would need a juicer/grinder to make it fresh and not worry about the sodium.

What did people do before juicers were invented??
Buy organic veggies, or soak them in pesticide remover.
It's said that you shouldn't drink anything but water. That's what nature intended. But...who cares?
enjoy!
