what programs does vista use?

can i get any of those programs on my windows xp?

Many of the programs you use on XP work on Vista while others are not yet up to speed as far as the transition to the newer operating system.
This is not at all unusual. Everytime they come out with a new operating system, it takes a period of time before the developers get there software compatible with the new operating system's

Vista does not use any programs.
Vista is the new Microsoft Operating System.

It replaces XP.
