They have an excellent reputation. If I were going to volunteer to do this type of work, they would be my first choice.
They are ethical, honest, kind and committed type of people.
I think you are headed in the right direction.

Usually, there's a safety talk, if you're new.
You may need safety shoes & a hard hat.
Then they'll tell you what today's tasks are.
You may get to choose what you will do.
They usually provide some lunch I think.

I've never done it so I am not sure how it works but if you have the opportunity to do it you definitely should. Good luck and have fun.

how about you just go with a serving heart, do whatever anyone asks you to do and always be cheerful?

that's what community service is supposed to be about...
