No one should believe in an imaginary being. You don't believe in santa so why believe in a god?

Interesting question and some very 'unusual' answers from some very wise folk. The answers are 'unusual' in that as of the time I write this, there were no 'damning' disrespectful answers (like someone harping how The Bible is only a storybook and not to be believed).
Many of the answers are correct. Like fire hardens steel, so to, life experience helps to make one stronger.
Trusting in God requires faith in Him as well, perhaps first-most. Through trust, we 'know' that He will not lead us astray. He will lead us in the appropriate path, we only need to learn to listen.
When times are uncertain, we need to learn to listen even more strongly. God provides all the answers you need at any given moment (Unlike Radio Shack. lol).
Anyway, you've got some fine answers here and some very wise people (and Sasquatch).
God Bless!

that's why the bible teaches us about faith.
that's when we truly believe, because we have faith.
when i'm going through tough times, for instance, when my family's house was burnt down a week before christmas,
i kinda sickenly laughed and said, thanks God, for the awesome christmas gift...
but then i realized -he really did give me the greatest gift that year...we were all safe, together alive.
it takes time for us to realize that the hard times weren't so bad after all. some of us understand his plan for us, and why we went through those hard times a few minutes to a week...some others, years.
it's in the bad times, when we lose faith-
that's when God is more close than ever.
and he understands bc he knows we will come out from the bad times more stronger than ever. and God never throws us something we cannot handle. Bc He knows each person the best, bc he made us.
I always look to God for answers. But then, some things aren't susposed to be answered.
That's what faith is. God exists in our hearts. It's not seeing what's there, but feeling that it does exist..faith is like the wind-you can't see it, but you can feel it-and you feel it, bc it does exist.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
"They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles." Isaiah 40:31
In times of uncertainty, I cannot lean on my own understanding, which is finite. I have to put my trust in the Lord, who knew about my situation long before I was born and had the answer already worked out. My job is to seek Him and wait upon Him, do His will and whatever steps He has me to take.
I must seek Him as to what He is up to. I may have to ask Him to reveal where my circumstances may actually be consequences to my own foolishness or impatience and then seek Him as to my part in the remedy.

Because the Lord never changes. He is always good and faithful. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So in times of doubt and trials, look to none other than the one who knows you and loves you more than anyone else, Jesus.

You are supposed to look to him always, however as busy humans, we tend to forget when things are good who we should thank for that. When times are hard or we are in crisis the only one who can truly give us comfort is God, so then we turn to him. I went through a period of time when I felt like I was being held up by hands under my arms, my feet felt like they were dragging.....that was when my ex husband and I were seperated and trying to work it out, when I made the decision that it was over, that burden was lifted. I felt God carrying through that time of indecision, and felt his smile upon me when I said enough was enough. He held me up when I couldn't hold myself up, and he gave me back my strength when I was ready to stand on my own.

God is not a man that He should lie. Every promise in the Bible given to us by God is true when circumstances are great, and true when circumstances are dark. He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Since that is true, then believe it. He is my helper whether I am in the light or in the dark. Believe in what is true regardless.

I could lose EVERYTHING, and i'd still know that my Jesus will be there. When this world gets insane He is my sanity.
He will never leave me alone. Sometimes it does feel like I am but it's just me pushing Him away. He will NEVER let u down! I honestly wouldn't make it through the day without Him as my saviour!

One believes in God ESPECIALLY in times of uncertainty and trouble.
You really never know that God is all you need...
....until God is all you have.
