My brother plays Conquer, Maplestory, and Dragonfable. When we've asked him to get off, we've had to yell at him to get off. When he finally got off, he literally cried with tears streaming down his face because he couldn't finish a quest. We did not hit him. He slams the door and acts all sulky and sometimes he locks himself up in his room. As soon as he gets up in the morning, he goes on the computer. As soon as he gets back from school, its back on the computer. I don't get much time, and he spends about 5 hours everyday. When it's just me, and Itell him to get off, he screams and hits me. And somehow he has more strength than I do. When he eats his snack, he eats it while playing. I've given up on fighting with him, but I don't just want to let this go on. He's spoiled, and he whines a lot, whines way too much, and complains about just about anything I'm wondering if this is normal for a 12 year old boy?
Mind you, we still do love each other.
Sorry for the long question, folks

That's definitely not healthy. People that get that addicted to video games usually grow up to be psychotic and extremely irresponsible. I suppose there are three approaches that could work.

1) You work out a lot until you can overpower him. (Kind of a heathen approach, but whatever works.)

2) You get your parents to make him get off, or put a password on the computer; without him knowing what it is. (Probably the most common and easiest option.)

3)Your third option is counseling. I'm not sure, but I believe school counseling is free, compared to paying hundreds of dollars. (Even if you or your parents made him go, it's not a guarantee if he's not willing to cooperate.)

Note: I am a fifteen year old sophomore in high school. I am not a psyche major. These may not be your only options.

I think he is totally addicted.
Your brother needs more time doing real world activities before he turns into a diabetic, obese blobby lump on the sofa.
This is no way to live.
Talk to your parents.
Get him into some sports programs, after school programs, and any other kind of supervised activities that will get him socializing with other kids (thus developing some social skills), and keep him away from the game system.
They may have to use "tough love" to wean him off these video games.

Well he is waaay to overly obsessed with games. What I would do if I had a bro is I would pull the plug (litterally) so he couldnt get on but only pull out the internet wire. He might need the computer for school. Let him on the internet but tell him if u catch him on his game he might turn into dinner!

No, this is not normal for a 12 year old boy. He is clearly addicted to the games and this can lead to terrible things. There have been people who have committed SUICIDE over video games. This is definitely a serious issue that need to discuss with your parents....for their sake, your sake and your brother's sake.
