future are not respected near as much if at all. I know doctors are great and do help us alot but so do the teachers and day care providers just as much but in a different way. Does it have to do with the education they have or the money the doctors make? If so that is just not right to respect someone just becasue of their money they have.

I mean in a way of the public in general like how just about everyone wants to marry a doctor and to marry or be friends with a day care provider is nothing.

y should u compare urself to a doctor or a teacher or a day care provider... evryone has their own specialty.. and they should not be compared... doctors.. they make sure that patients get the proper medical help.. day care providers give the TLC treatment for their clients (tender loving care) and teachers make sure that we learn and understand what we are studying.. so each and everyone contributeds to the whole...

Either the mother or the father - or worse both - live in fear of everything (probably due to the news, or PTA stories of terrible people, crime, drugs, etc.) So the children are blanketed by protection 24/7. I think once 1 bad apple no matter if it's in another country or not scares some parents into action then this story spreads to affect other parents, and ruin the lives of innocent people. The closer to home the more scared they become. The choices with todays fast moving neighbors is ignore them, get to know them before they move again as your moving too. If you do move to suburbia - where you know everyone will be for awhile you really can meet your neighbors and have friendships that last. Can't peg down USA as it's so huge, this is referenced from San Francisco bay area point of view. There are huge numbers of people on the move in California, ties form quickly, but people move often. Relationships are hard to start, if you know you both will be moving soon. As for the treatment of gays and minorities - in fields that involve children - you can never guess how people will react, but I usually plan for the worst, if the Alpha parent of the school, or PTA, is happy then the flock will be too. Sad mental picture but I view people more as followers than individuals or leaders in these cases. You have to know the person before condemning them.

(-: Where have you been? Patients don't respect their doctors nearly as much as they used to. It might be a society trend.
I think part of the problem is that day care providers are necessary, but sometimes not exactly wanted -- the mom has to work, and she has no other choice. So, she needs the DCP, but she's conflicted about having to use one.
And teachers . . . well, the kids HAVE to go to school. So some parents respect the work and trouble the teachers have to go through, and others resent having to do anything for the class -- like parent-teacher day. Don't worry about them -- I don't think they like kids in the first place, so be extra good to their poor children.
As for a doctor -- well, seeing a doctor is a personal choice 9 times out of 10. I'm sure emergency room doctors see a lot of abuse and "bad patients." Even more than DCPs and teachers do!
I respect teachers very much, and DCPs. I teach myself, and know what they have to go through. (-: I sure couldn't take care of 12 2-year-olds for eight hours a day!!!! You're doing a great job, and keep up the good work!

Doctors have at least eight years of grueling college. You expect DAY CARE workers to be on anywhere near the same level? Some of these workers don't even have, OR NEED, a high school education to do this job, and to do it well.
What planet to you come from Delusionite? Come on, you can't be in the least serious. As far as teachers, I think they do get a certain amount of respect, but to be honest nearly everyone who can get through 4-5 years of college CAN become a teacher, not so with a doctor.

Physicians or doctors are traditionally considered to be assistants that help to provide healing to the bodies of humans and because of the extensive training requirements and also because of the occupation's special ethical and legal duties. It does not make a doctor a better person but in Biblical or previous years they were looked upon very highly because there were not a lot of cures for diseases that people carried and death was enormous back then.

I often wonder the same thing. I make sure to show much appreciation to my child's teachers as much as I possiblly can. Good teachers deserve to be praised as much as a doctor.

Your right but it does have to do with the education they have. They need more schooling than many other careers so we must respect them more... Sucks

i think people are just disgusted with the state of the american public school system, since there is no competition, the schools don't have to try as hard, from the top people to the bottom people.

Doctors are well respected because of the degree of higher education they have attained.
