First of all, he's a sweet heart. He's not attacking me or anything. Secondly, it's just this weird skin problem he's been getting. I don't know if anyone has ever had this problem with their cats, but it's like his fur falls out at certain spots and it's like red scabby like patches, like a recluse bite, only it's not, cuz it comes and goes. And he coughs a lot, only it doesn't sound like a hairball, it sounds more mucous like. I hardly feed him and he hunt most his food. I sometimes let him snack on bread, avocado and lettuce and stuff. I want to buy him vegan cat food.

I'm being honest and don't care if you criticize me or call me a weirdo vegan. Just let me know what you think and stuff.

I knew I'd get all this S.H.I.T from you idiots! Think about it this way: How do those wild cats survive in the wild? Tigers hunt right? Ya, that's right! So don't tell me I'm an unfit owner to this cat, because I'm not his owner, I'm his friend. He showed up one day to me. I didn't buy him at the store. And I could feed him the S.H.I.T most of you feed your cats, but no thanks! I had a cat whom I fed your so called food, and he died in the most horrible way. He bled to death through his bladder. You should research what's actually in your cat's food. You might learn something. And, I hope you can learn.

Since you morons can't even give me even an incling of info as to why he's coughing, I'll give myself one. He's probably coughing cause my mother stubbornly refuses to stop giving him fried chips. There, may not be the right answer, but at least it is an actual answer! Geeze!

My cat hunts meat! Hello! He's not deprived.

Quite honestly, I think what you need is a RABBIT--who is also a vegan. A cat is a carnivore--a MEAT EATER! They MUST have meat in their diet or they will develop more than just skin problems. You do NOT know how to properly care for a cat--this is obvious--a cat cannot survive very long on a couple pieces of bread. Further, if you allow your cat to eat nothing except what he hunts down, YOU are setting him up to pick up any number of diseases--too numerous to mention here--including rabies. Did you ever consider getting DRY cat food? Most of them have the primary ingredient listed as corn meal, EXCEPT they are all fortified with the vitamins & minerals, etc., that your cat MUST have. Sorry Kiddo, but YOU are NOT qualified to be a responsible cat-owner. Please find this cat a home where they don't mind opening a can of cat food on a daily basis. You should stick to rabbits, mice, rats and iguanas who love the lettuce leaves, carrots and various veggies.

Cats Are Very Territorial. That mans a cat feels a stranger has invaded his/her territory. In a case like that, a cat possibly competitive closer to one cat -- more commonly probably the most convenient-going -- however pleasant to a further. The time whilst disorders crop up is whilst a brand new kitty arrives, a tender kitten turns into a adult cat, or the residence cat appears out the window to peer a unusual cat within the backyard -- the residence cat might chase, ambush, hiss, and/or meow angrily. And it’s now not simply the men. Girl cats will also be simply as infuriated through strangers.

I am not able to help you on the medical problems, but I personally know many cats that live long and happy lives on vegan cat food. If you feel that your cats being vegan is important to you, then you should buy him vegan cat food. Please don't only feed him table scraps, he will be much healthier on cat food. If you want to purchase him some food here is a good website www.veggiepets.com/acatalog/vegetarian_cat_food.html
You should seriously consider the effects of him becoming vegan before you put your cat on a vegan diet, because how will he be happy? I am a life long vegetarian who happily feeds her cats meat every day, you should be sure that what you do is best for him before you start. What ever you do, it is still a good thing, because it sounds like he needs a home.

he's probably malnurished. If you can't feed him right, why have him? Cats bodies aren't like ours. a vegetable diet, even with the occasional mouse is harmful to a cat. for one thing, it will cause the cat's urine to be too alkaline, causing urinary crystals to form-- painful to the cat. also, since the cat's digestive system is not equipped to break down vegetable matter, vomiting, diarrhea, blockage may occur.
other than that, ringworm, mites, an allergy or stress can cause hair loss.. take him to the vet if you don't mind the expense. otherwise find him a better home.

I would say the cat's problems are food-related. Not only is he not getting the correct food or enough food, he is getting food that is almost guaranteed to cause allergic reactions.

If you aren't willing to learn about proper cat care, why don't you find another home for your cat, before he dies? This poor sweet cat deserves better than a slow death from benign neglect.

Sounds like ring worm on the skin...by the creme that is used for athletes feet....it is the same type of fungus a ring worm and will get rid of it. My cat got it in one area and I treated it with that creme and it went away. Why do you have an animal that you hardly feed and has to find his own food? He might be getting a upper respiratory infection due to low immunity because of bad nutrient....Cat food is made for a reason!

hmmmm. cats in the wild , especially domesticated house cats don't live long in the wild.. Giving them veg. is ablsolutley NO good for you cat. Why can't you get that? It's not about what you want. Would you offer a shark brocclli? How much sense does that make?. GIVE YOUR CAT AWAY

I agree with CAT S, 1st reply,... felines are carnivorous and must have meat in diet, balanced or their immune system is compromised terribly.
Not being critical, but it's plainly cruel and not right that the kitty has to fend for itself as far as hunting for it's own meat source whilst you occasionally feed it as a turtle/bird with bread and lettuce, etc.
Cat depends and trusts you to properly feed and care for it.
Pls. reconsider and feed accordingly.

cats CANNOT be vegan. They MUST eat meat or they will DIE. There is an amino acid they need that can only be found in meat. Dogs can artificially produce this amino acid which is why they can be vegetarian but cats cannot. It sounds like your cat is very undernourished. Please buy some decent cat food and start looking after her properly.
