Hi, I want to buy my little sister (9yrs) a guitar. I've looked on ebay but I really don't know what brands or models to look for. I'm looking to get her something in the $60-$150 price range. I've seen some going for only $40...are those crappy or good enough? BTY, this would be her first guitar.

The best 1/2 size guitar for its money, that I have found, is a Hohner acoustic! It plays really well for the low price that it costs! It would be the perfect size for a 9 yr old! They have them at musiciansfriend.com for $69 dollars!

Another instance of the stigma and false impression. Nothing to do with how tall any individual is. Big arms imply you would even play a bass guitar with bodily ease and style. (Even perhaps, conga drums.) The frame of the guitar (a three/four or part-dimension) is a comfort for individuals who believe they aren't relaxed getting round a real dreadnought or jumbo frame, and many others. There are Concert and Parlor sizes as good to check out out which nonetheless furnish the believe and function of alternative guitar frame patterns. It is the neck and fingerboard that's the foremost relating to being ready to play. And the average neck must (and need to) be the identical on all guitars (simply period will depend on the quantity of frets at the fingerboard) or they would not be in right song of scale and... pitch while one performs. It is a signal of a affordably made and low-priced guitar while the pitch at scale is not right on the frets, even supposing it's 'hooked up' competently. Full dimension guitars for every person! p.s.: Hey, I'm five'eight" too.
