This means you get other people who are in the best position to influence the outcome in your favor, to say and do the rights things with the right people at the right time. For example, you are only one person, but if you can get a human rights organization to send out e-mail to their membership group to put pressure on Congressmen and women and Senators, then you have leveraged your influence.

Organized groups putting pressure on your elected officials. Let them know you will find and support an opposition candidate in the primary election. The parties usually stick with incumbents so the easiest way to kick out incumbents is in the primary race.
