Hi Kevin,
I suggest a Bible Study. I could assist you in finding a Bible Based Church in your area or if you want to send me a message I will talk with you about finding such a church. The Most Important thing is to find a group of people who are willing to follow NOTHING BUT the SCRIPTURES and NOT use the man-made creeds that so many Denominational Churches are using. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

Religions, or churches? The first thing that you need is to understand what you believe, and why. I would recommend that you contact Calvary Chapel and ask them for help in Bible study, and learning just what it does mean to be a Christian. While you are at it, pray, ask God, believing that He can, and will answer you, for direction. The most basic question to ask is if what you are going to do, participate in, or believe line up with the Bible. Men have some weird ideas about what the Bible has to say on a lot of topics. Be careful of what you choose. I can, and will advise you on 1 thing, any church that is practicing what is in the book, "The Purpose Driven Church" is a good one to stay away from. No church, regardless of the intention should ever be operated as a corporation such as a company that is seeking profit is operated.

There are no wrong paths to knowing God.

In Christianity the first thing you need to understand is the Eternal Sin. Churches have been so blasphemous in their exclusivity that it has lead many people to doubt God.
If God loves, why do churches only love their members?

In Christianity we learn about God by the teaching of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We must understand the importance of each to understand the whole

Many Churches have been so blasphemous in their teaching of the trinity that it has led to much confusion. Churches have used this confusion to make people believe in the "ever-threatening potential of falling from God's grace" and it keeps a man a constant sinner, and it's wrong! Only through the help of God will you know a life without sin. Once you know God you will know this.

Decode the Eternal Sin and it will unlock the secrets of the Bible.

Why can you doubt the Father and the Son, but never doubt the Holy Spirit? What exactly is the Holy Spirit? How can you seperate the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son? Where is it? Where does the Holy Spirit dwell?

Look within yourself for the answer. This is the real message from Jesus of Nazareth. This is what He lived and died for you to understand. It is the basis for all His teaching and will guide you to understanding the Word. It's God's knowledge and it will awaken in you.

God is not a belief!
You will never doubt God when you know Him.

You are blessed, now know it!

The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation. Men would draw away believers to follow them instead of Christ. (Matthew 7:15, 21-23; Acts 20:29, 30) That is why we see so many different religions that claim to be Christian. How can we identify true Christians?

The most outstanding mark of true Christians is that they have real love among themselves. (John 13:34, 35) They are not taught to think that they are better than people of other races or skin color. Neither are they taught to hate people from other countries. (Acts 10:34, 35) So they do not share in wars. True Christians treat one another as brothers and sisters.—1 John 4:20, 21.

Another mark of true religion is that its members have a deep respect for the Bible. They accept it as the Word of God and believe what it says. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17) They treat God's Word as being more important than human ideas or customs. (Matthew 15:1-3, 7-9) They try to live by the Bible in their everyday life. So they do not preach one thing and then practice another.—Titus 1:15, 16.

The true religion must also honor God's name. (Matthew 6:9) Jesus made God's name, Jehovah, known to others. True Christians must do the same. (John 17:6, 26; Romans 10:13, 14) Who are the people in your community that tell others about God's name?

True Christians must preach about God's Kingdom. Jesus did so. He always talked about the Kingdom. (Luke 8:1) He commanded his disciples to preach this same message in all the earth. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20) True Christians believe that only God's Kingdom will bring true peace and security to this earth.—Psalm 146:3-5.

Jesus' disciples must be no part of this wicked world. (John 17:16) They do not get involved in the world's political affairs and social controversies. They avoid the harmful conduct, practices, and attitudes that are common in the world. (James 1:27; 4:4) Can you identify a religious group in your community that has these marks of true Christianity?

How Can You Find the True Religion?

Are all religions pleasing to God, or is just one? (1)

Why are there so many religions that claim to be Christian? (2)

How can you identify true Christians? (3-7)

1. Jesus started one true Christian religion. So today there must be just one body, or group, of true worshipers of Jehovah God. (John 4:23, 24; Ephesians 4:4, 5) The Bible teaches that only a few people are on the narrow road to life.-Matthew 7:13, 14.

If you speak of denominations of the Church, don't sweat it.

You say you want to live for Christ. Then, you need to find a Church which is centered on Christ (believe it or not, just because they say they are Christian does not mean they are Christ centered). That is, they are more concerned about His will than they are concerned about tradition, church politics, or "nickels and noses" (attendance and how much money they make each week).

There are some decent denominations out there - Assemblies of God, most Southern Baptist, American Baptist, many non-denominational, too. You need to find a church with a pastor who tends his flock and a flock who serves the church, others and ultimately, the Lord.

You cannot live for Christ if you are not a saved believer. Many religions talk about Jesus as a good man or prophet but not savior. The Bible tells you how you can begin the journey of living for Christ-
you must first, admit that you are a sinner, confess your sins, and repent- accept Christ as your Savior, and then through the power of the Holy Spirit He will give you the power to not only live for Him , but become like Him. If you have any questions, please feel free to email if you can,

You are almost there already. You have stated your desire to live for Christ. That is not a religion, but a relationship. To get close to Jesus, talk to Him. He is real. You should also read the bible as that book is inspired by His Holy Spirit. But you need fellowship also, and that means you should pray about attending a bible teaching church. Also in the book of James it asks that very question. What is true religion? It replies it is taking care of the orphan and widow, and keeping yourself clean from the world. Jesus said my words make you clean. A baptism in the Holy Spirit will take your confusion away. Salvation is received by asking. The Holy Spirit is granted by asking. Prayers are answered by asking. Guidance is given by asking. You get the picture?

No religion is the best religion. None of them are real anyway. But if you "want to live for Christ," learn more about the religion and then find out if you truly want to be a Christian. You can't make such a decision without knowing everything you're getting into first.

From the Old Testament alone, more than 2000 specific prophesies have been fulfilled.
No other so called Holy book compares.Most of the 333 prophesies concerning the Messiah were fulfilled by the birth and life of Jesus Christ and the rest will be fulfilled at His second coming. A mathematician, Peter Stoner, had his graduate students calculate what the odds would be of any one person fulfilling just eight of these prophesies. He found the chance was one in 100,000,000,000,000,000 !Only a God who knows the future could have revealed these prophesies to those that He would have record them in His Word.

In spite of what is being taught today, the truth is we can reconstruct most of the life of Jesus Christ through non - Christian writers of the first century. Even Celsus who despised Christianity, never considered claiming that Jesus Christ did not exist.This is what can be learned from the writing of Celsus...

He was born of a virgin in a small village of Judea;
He was adored by wise men;
His birth was followed by the slaughter of infants by order of Herod;
He took flight to Egypt, where Celsus supposed Christ learned the charms of the Magicians;
After returning, He resided in Nazareth;He was baptized and the Holy Spirit descended on Him as a voice was heard from heaven;
He elected disciples;
He was a friend with publicans and other low people;
He cured the lame and blind;
He raised people from the dead;
He was betrayed by Judas;
He was denied by Peter;
In addition Celsus refers to several details of Christ's passion, crucifiction, and resurrection.

Twenty seven books of the New Testament, nineteen Pagan writers, and three Jewish writers testify to Jesus Christ's historical reality. When I hear people say that Jesus or the Bible is just a myth I just realise that they are simply unaware of the facts.I recommend The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel and or Skeptics Answered or The Gate Of Hell Shall Not Prevail by D. James Kennedy, and The Signature of God by Grant R. Jeffrey. May all your thoughts be taken captive by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The reason you are so confused is because you already have a measure of enlightenment that does not allow you to be bound by any one religion ,cult ,or creed. Just look deep within your self and you will find all you need ,this is the nature of the soul,listen for the still soft voice within you.Keep looking up.
