Get a product from your vet called Forbid. It is a powder you put in the dogs' food that makes their poop taste bad to them. They'll stop after a few applications of the powder.

You are making too big of a deal out of this. They aren't doing it because they are crazy. This is not a cultural more' they are violating. They have a reason for doing it and there are 3 cures, none of which involve putting them down - find the reason and fix it or make it totally unattractive or clean it up immediately or a combination of all 3. There are products you can buy and sprinkle on their food to make their feces unattractive - like ForBid or simply sprinkling MSG on the food. You didn't say how old they are. If they are puppies they haven't learned what tastes good or bad yet. I understand that sometimes dogs do this when they are lacking something in their diet. In my experience though, it seems to be more of a habit. It's a habit that isn't helped at all by putting them outside all the time. You can't break a habit if you aren't there to fix it. And one theory is that it is a nervous habit - making the dog happier will often help alleviate the problem. I think perhaps you should consult either a dog trainer or a vet or even do an internet search. There's an official word for this :coprophagy. You could do a word search using that word.

Hi! Don't worry! It is not abnormal for a dog to eat poop and many puppies grow out of it. It is gross to us, but they probably smell something edible in there. I have a link below to reasons why dogs eat poop and some solutions (and alternative to drug solutions too). Kate C's answer is probably the easiest and best choice. You can put drugs into your dogs' food to prevent them from eating it.... The only problem is it doesn't prevent YOUR dogs from eating OTHER dogs' poop nor does it prevent them from eating other kinds of poop.
In any case, each dog responds differently. For some, getting Forbid will work. For others, they need behavioral training (catching them in the act). Others need both... And then there is also the possibility of them not getting enough nutrients and they are still hungry or they are not digesting the food correctly.
Good luck! (I would try the changing to a better dog food first and then try forbid and behavioral training)

The best thing to do is walk the dogs or be with them outside. Pick it up immediately and throw it in the bin.
Then check to see if they have enough good food, exercise and things to do. This can be a habit but can also be a sign of stress. Dogs in a dull or sterile environment can do this out of sheer boredom and cabin fever.
Instead of putting things into their system like MSG or another commercial product, simply clean it up and get them some more exercise and toys. Treat the root of the problem instead of just the symptoms.

They have a supplement that you can use to stop it. It IS a nsaty habit and changing the food might help too.
The dogs do not and should not be put down over this. Thats mean and wrong. Do something about it. Clean up after them immedialtey and put them on something that will help them stop. The vet sells something you can put in the food. And like I said, CHANGE the food. Find something higher quality to feed them. Sommething with no more then 2 grains listed in the first 5 ingredients.

your dogs are eating one anothers poop becuase they are looking for more nutrition. what food are you currently feeding them. it is prob low in nutrition, therefore the poop tastes exactly the same as the food. the dogs dont know any better and are just looking for nutrition if they eat the food and the poop essentially they are getting double the food. i suggest switching dog food brands. feeding smaller portions (so your dogs dont eat so quickly ) then giving them a small piece of pineapple to eat .(this makes the poop taste really bad who would have thought it tasted good to begin with)
finally keep your yard clean if there isnt any poop to eat then they cant eat poop. also your vet can prescribe a medication that makes poop taste bad.
please do not put your dogs down they dont know any better.
this is an easy problem with a quick solution. best of luck.

It's not uncommon at all for dogs to eat poop. I don't think there are many products out there that actually work. The only way to make sure is to go out with your dogs and clean up after them immediately.

I also have a dogs who does this additionally. the main important hassle with this habit that I even have encountered is that your canines can get worms from eating the droppings. this is information from my veterinarian. I also have a dogs who's skinny, skinny and he has the undesirable habit of eating the droppings of my different canines. Your vet can verify your dogs for worms (exceptionally cautioned a minimum of at their annual checkup). this might seem disgusting, yet i will walk over to the place my dogs in simple terms went and seem on the feces to be certain if there are any worms crawling around. I even have trojan horse medicine from my vet. via fact I even have 9 canines, the vet wrote down the doseage to offer the canines in accordance with their weight. in case you will bypass on line and seem on the Drs. Foster and Smith puppy catalog, they have a product to offer your canines that makes their poo the place the different canines are actually not involved in it. It might desire to make it have an smell they do unlike.

Okay, it's gross, but every dog eats poop and much more disgusting stuff we don't see. My dogs won't eat dog poop, but they seem to love cat poop. I spoke to my vet and she suggested I get Forbid, (as mentioned in the other answer). It worked and now everyone only eats dog food.

Actually, it is not at all uncommon. It's a dog thing, and it's certainly NO reason to put a dog down. It is called copraphagia, and there are products that are supposed to help stop it. Look into those, and if your dogs really gross you out that bad, find them excellent homes and don't get any more dogs.
