I cannot believe the misunderstanding of diet and weightloss and the evolution and design of the human body.

You people all still try to listen to the supposed 'experts' eat this, do that, that same crap we have heard for 25 years and yet the country gets fatter every year.

Carbs are the enemy. It is very very simple. The human body evolved to eat MEAT. Meat increased brain size and reduced digestive tract (which is only needed for eating roughage).

The body was not designed to eat rice cakes and other carb based 'diet' products 4, 5, 6 or more times a day. It was designed to eat large meals (primarily of meat) sporadically.

Counting calories and starving yourself will not work. The sooner you all wake up and realize the the truth the better off you will all be.

No I said mostly meat. I personally throw in a green vegetable or better yet a nice salad frequently. Hell a couple times a month I even have some bread, pasta or rice.

My point is that, people focus to much on low calorie, low fat and they fail and/or suffer.

And no its not a question.

I am not knocking people trying to lose weight, I was one (still am to an extent). I was 210 now 2 years later 140. I am trying to help people wake up and see that the tradtional methods DO NOT WORK. It breaks my heart to see people struggle over and over doing the same failed methods.

I like your answer A.Lane but carbs are the enemy if your goal is losing fat.

Once you are at your target, then yes allowing a small amount of carbs back into your system is okay.

If you want to lose fat, then your body must be switched from burning sugar (which is what ALL carbs turn into, well except dietary fiber) into burning fat.

Carb based 'diet' products is kind of an oxymoron.. right now diet products all seem to be "Low Carb!"

What people need to wake up to is that you don't have to cut things out to lose weight. A food group isn't an enemy- except maybe fast food, which seems to be a food group now.

You definitely are right that people eat too many carbs. I think I eat healthy, and I compared what I eat to the food pyramid standards (on mypyramid.gov- a fantastic way to lose weight). It was just past breakfast and I had eaten FAR over the daily allowance of carbs.

Carbs aren't an enemy, they just need to be eaten in moderation. Fast food and junk food are the enemies if we're going to declare an enemy!

the majority of people do consume far too many calories from carbohydrates as compared to their level of daily high intensity exercise. people have been brainwashed by the very inaccurate food pyramid. unfortunately finding people with common sense is becoming more and more difficult here in the US.

I disagree.
I know it isn't healthy but I, without realizing, starved myself and lost 25-30 lbs.
Why do you people just get on here to complain about people trying to lose weight? It makes me SICK!

A diet should consist of more than meat, it should also have fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, and water.
