The reasons given here as to why NASCAR doesn't stop it are true, but I wish they would. I love to watch the Busch races-those guys are so happy when they win and seem to enjoy themselves. 'Pros' in sports coming back and competing against a lower level just doesn't seem right. When they move up to the NASCAR series and have the yellow rookie strip, they can learn to drive against cup drivers then. There may be more Busch teams show up if they didn't have to compete with the cup drivers-$, equipment, etc. Guess we may never know.

Like Cup, Busch wants to put the best line-up on the track and if that mean that a lot of them a Cup drivers, so be it. Busch is still a development series to a point. There are 43 drivers in a Busch or Cup race and even if there were no Cup drivers in Busch not all of them would be contenders ready to move up to an open spot with a Cup team either as development driver (Bower) or a upstart (Ambrose/Gilliland).
If the Cup drivers weren't in Busch the the series you would end up being filled with field fillers from Hooters and other lowers series and that would hurt the gate/ratings and the sponsors dollars for the team. Mean that the big teams (Roush/RCR/HMS) would be the ones to pour all there funds into a couple of teams who would dominate and win all the races the way it is now. Only with a lesser payday for the drivers, and damage the talent racing in the real development serices.
Today Busch isn't the only place that Cup looks to for it's next wave of future drivers, that role hase been expanded to IRL Champ Car and F1. Of the current chase contenders only a few have come up after running more than two seasons or more in Busch before making the jump to Cup.
Cup drivers in Busch help the Busch drivers by allowing them a chance to drive with the best drivers in NASCAR on a week in week out basis and to learn from them. And new (at the time) Cup driver can improve there skills while competing with more established teams.

I agree Eddie H. Even though I'm a Carl Edwards fan I don't like that the Cup guy's are taking over in the Busch series .
Mile Post ...you say that Cup driver's aren't driving Cup car's in the Busch series ,thats true but the majority of the Cup drivers ARE driving better prepared Busch cars because they have better sponsor's meaning better engines.
However ,it is said that if there weren't Cup driver's in the Busch series there wouldn't be enough car's to make a full field .

Busch is the training ground for the "real world", if they can't cut it there, they don't deserve to go to the cup. Martin Truex, Jr. won the Busch series before he was a cup driver as have many others. With the exception of a few, many don't even race every Busch race and yet they finish in the points.....get the point.

Most NEXTEL Cup Drivers that race in other divisions do it to get more experience on the track.
Or some do it just because they like to race.
There are not enough drivers in the Busch Series to fill a whole field all the time.
Most Busch Drivers like the cup guys racing in their division, so they can learn how to do it right, and hopefully get up to the Cup Series.

Its about $$$$$ and filling up grand stands, if the cup guys were not in the busch races the stands would look like some of the arca races on TV hardly any one there,. I just think they need to limit the number of Cup drivers who drive in the Busch races.

Cup drivers should be limited to no more than 5 Busch races per year. I realize that they draw fans, but the Busch series needs to be able to stand on it's own.

Because who else better to learn from than the CUP guys. Think how good the Busch drivers feel when they beat the CUP guys. Its a good thing.

I wouldn't say that it "worked" in the Nationwide Series. When they have done it, it turned into a boring wreck fest right off of the bat. There were literally drivers spinning in every single turn for a while. I believe the same thing would happen in the cup series. It's not because the drivers suck, but because of the kind of car they are driving. A lot of people are throwing around the word tires a lot, but honestly, tires aren't going to do much good, regardless of how "good" they are. There is much more to it than simply swapping out "normal" tires for rain tires. Stock cars just don't handle well in the rain; they're hard enough to handle in dry conditions.

Why should they? The cup racers are not bringing their cup cars. They are driving Busch Series cars. So the playing field is level.
