Don't take this the wrong way (cuz' I don't mean it like that), but you're letting your dog not let anyone cuddle you. You're in control of this, and you can make changes!

Dog might think you're his or her property. I suggest start cuddling with anyone who you can get for this training suggestion, to hug you standing up. Get a good hug from your friend, mom, significant cuddlebunny, etc., and hug back. When dog starts to go nuts, turn your back on the dog and don't let it in between you two. If it goes nuts, crate it in full view of the cuddle session and don't let it out until it's calmer. Then give it a treat.

Don't stop hugging until dog lets up or stops altogether.

Move this to the couch after you can hug standing up. Every time dog breaks in, put him or her off the couch. If you dog bites, put on a muzzle.

Reward when dog chills out.

I really hope you have luck! Remember, you're the alpha here. I bet you can fix this.

Sounds like you two need to talk about your relationship and the direction it's headed. Maybe talk to your Terrier about how you're just cuddling with other friends and how it'll never mean as much to you as cuddling with him (your terrier) does.

He is being dominant over you. When somebody goes to cuddle you and te dog starts reacting...if the dog is on you put him straight on the floor. This will put him down a peg or too and by acting this way he gets seperated from mum.

Also dont try to mother him too much if you do as its given him a bad complex.

Also when it comes to meal times let him watch you PRETEND to eat out of his bowl...pack leader always eats first and let whoever is cuddling you do the same after yourself.

How did this start?
Iv just heared a relative of mine (not any more though) had their 2yr old Jack Russel put to sleep for exactly the same thing.
I was horrified to hear a vet would consider doing it, instead of recommending a 1-2-1 trainer. They had the dog neutered _it didn't work so they had him put down .How insensitive .I wont speak to them now.
Please enquire about training .

terrier's tend to be very protective of their owners. put the dog in another room or crate when you want to cuddle. let your dog get to know the person you want to cuddle with.

Correct the dog! When someone goes to cuddle you and the dog tries to get himself/herself involved, tell him/her 'No!'. If needs be, push the dog away from you.

My dog wouldn't do that because he wouldn't be allowed the chance to be aggressive/dominant. You can't give terriers the chance!

Your little pooch is territorial..that is all. Terriers are a little more territorial than other breeds, too. That can be dangerous to your 'cuddler', by the way. That habit should be broken....ask your vet for advice.

What does he do? Does he become aggressive? If so, you probably need to consult with a trainer.
