I do.

Me, I want to believe in God because it would make life so much easier and comfortable. It's easy to believe that there is some nice and great santa-like man in the sky making sure that everything is going to be alright in the end. Unfortunately, I realize that thinking this sort of thing without evidence is delusional.

Unfortunately... probably not.

For those that don't believe believe the wisdom of the world. The only reason I really come is that I can think about some of the arguments I may use maybe it will encourage those that already believe.

I think this kind of sums it up here most likely, there are many that would qualify as the "Greeks" mentioned below! The Bible repeats many times that it is not the lack of evidence but the denying of it.
Here are materials if I am wrong and someone is willing to investigate... C.S. Lewis, Alister MacGrath, Lee Stroebel etc. did and came to faith!

1 Corinthians 1
20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

I'm sure everyone hopes for something when they die..if not then they are living a purposeless life with no true meaning..I can only hope that those who don't hope find God when at the end of their lives they finally feel what was there all along but just did not acknowledge it.

No, I'm an atheist and I think things would be much better if a benevolent God was around to help things out. Unfortunately, there isn't. It's down to us and us alone.

Sure...I could use some convincing.

You should've seen my face when I saw Kenshin Himura on your prayer list Cee T...thought you were a complete nutter.

Rule of the day: Read before you judge.

Good question, Chloe! Nychol, Queenie, and Kenshin Himura have been added to my prayer list. I think we'll see some Yahoo'ers in heaven some day. God is good!

I still wish that there really were a benevolent, omnipotent god (or gods) and an afterlife where I'd be reunited with loved ones I've lost. But wishing doesn't make it so.

Which god? I want to believe in a cool god.

But what I want is irrelevant. What matters is the evidence.

Do you have some evidence?

Yeah, I would be cool with believing in god.

It's just that I've never been presented with satisfactory evidence.
