Work related question. If you stumbled into a help wanted ad and in your gut you know you can do the job standing on your head, however your resume doesn't live up to the job discription and you've been without work for say 2 years, would it be useless to apply? At this point I feel hopeless, I tell myself why even bother I already know the routine.

No, I would apply, and do my best to "ace" the interview. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Go out and apply for this job, and any other that might come along. When I first started, I spent over two years applying for jobs, that I thought that I was remotely suited for, until I got one.
